Hello my name is LaToya M Wilson and I have been caregiving for 20 plus years. When I was young I always enjoyed helping my grandmother and other older adults and then my love for seniors grew from then on. I attend Certified Medical Assistant and CPR classes yearly with Evergreen Life Services since 2011. The experience of caregiving has and still is a very important part of my life. I have been doing Home Health Care for 20+ years. I have taken care of a wide variety of clients right down to family. I feel that since I was taken care of by the state as a child, my way of giving back is to take care of my loved ones. I enjoy seeing the smile on my client's faces when I walk through their door. I am currently going to school as Occupational Therapy Assistant and am looking forward to applying it to great use with clients in the future.

Hello, My name Is April Smith. I currently live in Shreveport La, im originally from Tahlequah Oklahoma. I have been a helper most of my life. Growing up my mom had Lucas and I remember always wanting to help her. Even though she didn't ask I can remember feeling like a super hero when I helped her. She was my Hero. She has always been in the business of caring for others. First as a CNA, for most of my young life. And then a an activies coordinator. So it's been a life long experience for me. Myself I have been a CNA, and now a caregiver believe in values, Dependability, and Honesty. I treat my clients how I would want some one to treat a family member of mine. I believe that families entrust us with a very valuable asset of theirs. And I believe a caregivers job is one of honor. Alot of the people we care for have paved the roads in this world we live in. And in some pretty hectic times. I believe we have two ears and one mouth for a reason. To listen twice as much as we speak. Their are so many unknown bonuses to what we do. So I believe being compassionate, understanding and reliable., are core characteristics for what we do.

At the age of sixteen I helped a family friend looking after there mother whom had alzheimer's. During that time I found what I was compassionate about and what I wanted to do for a living. I love being a caregiver I love help other's in need. To able to care for someone in need and I know they are getting the best care in my hands makes my day to see a smile on my patients face's of a sigh of thanks. Going back to school and get my Associate Degree. I am a 33 year old woman I have been a caregiver for 17 years now this is my true passion I've walked away from this duty but my heart has brought me back the way i looked at it's not about when we get old at any giving time something can happen to you and if you ever have to depend on someone to care for you don't you want some to care for you with compassion patients understand open mind and a up lifting spirit. All my life all I have ever done is care for other with or with pay i do it because that's the person i am I just that kind of girl...

My client will alway care u have to respect there decision making them be accountable and understand how they feel they need love and support u have to experiment they are journey in life patient is the key to there hearts we all have to go there way one day in life so we have to make the most of it i love to work with elderly people my grandmother was in a Position To where she could not do for her self so i had to take care of her at the age of 19 unit she pass i did everything thing for her i put my life on hold just to take care of her

I enjoy being a caregiver because I get to spend time with the patients. I'm able to help them feel like themselves. I'm a very positive person and encourage others to be also, no matter the situation. Helping others bring me joy and knowing that I'm help make a difference in someone's life is awesome .

I am a very friendly down to earth women of 61 years young. I have a vast array of professional experiences from recovering patients straight from the operating room that have had open heart surgery to caring for newborns. I had to retire in 2004 because I became very ill with lymphedema and a very painful bladder disease called interstitial cystitis. Being severely ill has made me even more caring and compassionate for anyone suffering from any illness. I like to incorporate family into my patient care as much or as little as the family member is comfortable. I believe that God allowed me to become ill so that I could become a very compassionate care giver. I actually CARE for my patients.

I have over 25 years experience in the field fast learning dedicated to my client and my job, I've always wanted to grow up and be able to help those who can't help themselves that's why I became a caregiver I enjoy being a caregiver because it gives me great joy to do something for a person that can't do it themselves l love what I do, and my biggest achievement in was being a single mom of three children and being able to raise them to be the respectful adults they are now it was not an easy task but with God's help we made it.

What makes me a great caregiver is because I love to share my love to other. Before I became a Nursing Assistant I was a caregiver for 6 years. I was a little girl helping my grandmother every weekend. I would prepare here meals feed her, bath her and everything. She would talk me through everything I needed to do. Then I really enjoyed taking care of her I went until the real world and started doing it on my own. I feel in love with it after that and I been loving it every since. What I like about being a caregiving. Is that I can be a blessing to someone by putting a smile on there face. Making someone feel safe are just giving them some on my time. Some patient don't even have family that want even go check on them. It makes my day when I can bless someone by perparing a meal are giving a warm bath. I have a really loving heart I treat my patients like my family because in my eyes they are like apart of my family. I love to pray with my patients I take them home in my prayers. My personal achievement im proud of is becoming a loving, caring and honest person....
