My name is Angie Brown, I have experience working in skilled facilities and also assisted living. For the last few years I have been doing home health care. My mother was a caregiver so I decided to follow in her footsteps. I have 18 years of home health and 11 years of hospice care experience. I'm proud of my personal achievements of obtaining my cna license later in life and making employee of the month on several occasions.

I started providing care for individuals when I was a mere sixteen years old. My first experience was taking care of an Alzheimer's patient, and this forever left a lasting mark on me. I found a passion in enriching the quality of life for those who want to continue to stay in their own home, and have always striven to provide the best care for individuals and couples. I have worked with short-term, long-term, and dementia residents at a nursing home for close to three years. I have had the privilege of caring and meeting many incredible people to whom I have developed close relationships with throughout the years. I have helped many of my residents recover through rough post surgeries, as well be a constant friend when they have needed someone to talk to. I love caring for others and enjoy being a helping aide for those who can't help themselves anymore.

I love to see the smiles on the clients face when they did something good or even by them self. I love to watch them success in anything they do. I always love caring for others more than myself, everyone else comes first before me. I enjoy being apart of their life and watching them become stronger.

Growing up my little brother was diagnosed with autism so I'm very good with special needs children and elderly. I'm 20 and plan on going back to college soon to pursue my dream of being a registered nurse.

One thing I have learned about myself throughout my nursing career is how much I enjoy the elderly population. I have experience in large nursing homes, small home to individual care. The intimacy of individual care has me hooked! Really getting to know a person, what they really enjoy, that's what it is all about. I was lucky enough to have had my grandparents in my life till a couple years ago. I took care of them at the end, as tough as it was, they had a beautiful end of life. To me, that is the most important thing. To allow and encourage them to do what makes them happy while offering the support they need. That could be something simple like having that favorite meal, going for a ride to a favorite place, or just having someone to talk to. It is my responsibility to ensure they are able to enjoy life, and I am committed to doing all I can to make them smile each day.
