I'm 46 years old. I been married 19 years and have a 18 year old son who just graduated this year. I personally love being a caregiver. I've done it on and off for about 10 years now. I've always liked to help people and have customer service jobs but at the same time I knew I wanted to do more, so one day I was offered to be a caregiver and I accepted it and have loved it since. I am a great caregiver because I have naturally been one most of my life. I became a caregiver because when I was in high school I began caring for my aunt who was disabled by assisting her with personal and medical needs. Then I was primary caregiver for my grandparents for the last 4 or 5years. I am very proud that I can take care of my dad who is suffering from induced dementia due to a severe hemorrhagic stroke that he suffered 28 months ago. He had a tracheotomy placed at the time which we helped during the time he had it and we are grateful he no longer needs it.
