Greetings and I hope all is well here is a little bit about me I've worked with seniors for a little while now privately as well as providing art services at nursing homes. What really got me into caregiving was the passing of my own grandmother, by me living out of town I never got to spend those last days with her which left me in great pain. That is why I started seeing what I can do to help out in the senior community. I cook I do light cleaning such as laundry, dishes, lining changes etc. I have other services that I offer as well I have my cosmetologist license, I offer manicures pedicures and haircuts, I do art classes and I'm also a licensed security officer so I'm trained see any danger coming if we happen to be on a outing. To me it's more then a job and honestly I just believe in treating people the way I would like to be treated or the way I would want someone to treat My love ones A person's character isn't built off of what they do when everyone is looking but more about what they do when no one is around I hope this was informational have a blessed day

I am a retired nurse with experience in geriatrics, pediatrics, mental health, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and dementia. I am certified in many areas of nursing and fluent with many medical equipments including oxygen. I am very out going and love to laugh, cook, do laundry(yes, really!), And I take pride in my work.

Mature, compassionate outgoing, caregiver I love to help people keep their independence

I was 15 years old and just started my freshman year of high school when I was placed in a class called Intergenerational Studies. For 2 hours each day I was taken to the nursing home called Golden Years there in Elgin, Tx. I started off just getting residents from their rooms to come and do activities with me. But it wasn't long and I was working side by side with CNAs, RNs, and at one point the DON had me shadow her for 2 weeks. I just got really interested and a few years after graduation and having my son, I pursued a CNA certification and was assigned the hospice hall and the "lockdown unit" which was occupied by the more violent patients and those with conditions such as Alzheimer's and/or parkinson's, as well as those with behavioral health conditions. I honestly just fell in love with everything about caring for the elderly. Even the hard and very emotional side of the care I provide is something I wouldn't want to stop doing. I would love to get my CNA back but just haven't attempted to do so since my husband passed in 2011. Since my high school days I have worked with all ages of people, from a 2 year old little princess to a 98 year old gentleman I referred to as Fred Astaire due to them looking like twins. He loved it and would smile so big when I walked in every day; and every day he would say "Good morning Ms. Judy (Garland). You feel like dancing the day away?" It's things like that for which I love my work. Please feel free to ask anything, I would love to tell everything now but there is just so much I've been blessed to have experienced with so many different people I'd never be done.

Hi, what makes me a great caregiver is that I'm very dedicated to caring for seniors , very reliable and am able to follow through task . Whatever is needed I will get the job done going above and beyond because I have a passion for taking care of seniors and assisting them with their ADL's in everyday living. When I was younger I took care of my grandfather when he couldn't do certain things on his own anymore I enjoyed assisting him with whatever he needed done so this is the reason why I am attracted to being a caregiver. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver are being able to help the elderly that cannot do most things by themselves and also still giving them their independence if they still can do with a little assistance I standby for precaution to prevent falls or them hurting themselves while trying to be independent. It makes me happy to see them smile everyday knowing they have a great caregiver by their sides. My personal achievement that I'm proud of is that I been caring for the elderly for over 18 years and I soon would love to get in nursing school for RN so I can be a hospice nurse.

I have a lot of patience, watching my father go through moods caused by dementia and altzimers has helped me become more understanding and wanting to help people.
