I am a caring individual that values having the best life possible. I entered this career path when my son's father had a stroke while I was still pregnant. I really enjoy the bonds I make with my patients and their families; becoming a part of the family myself while assisting a person to gain back their independence.
Caring for my late father and sister is what made my mind set to become a Caregiver. A career in the Caregiver Field is an awesome career to have. Caring for someone you love can be fulfilling experience that brings your family closer together. However, it isn't healthy to ignore the feeling of loss, stress, and physical strain that too often accompany this kind of family caregiving. Not only did I care for my love ones but I've come to care for others too in the past 10 years. I don't look @ others different I look @ them as family too. My heart is in this career because I believe in giving back to our Elders just like they have given to us. This career has help me care for those that are in need of care and become attuned to their feelings and needs. I'm a humble and loving caregiver. I'm available from Monday through Sunday overnight, live in or Days. Thank you and blessing Day Maninoa Sturgill
I started as a caregiver ten years ago while looking for care for my father who was a retired Viet Nam Veteran. The agency who came to interview my father to see what his needs were, liked me so much they asked me to work for them. They are contracted through the V A and had lots of veterans who they said would benifit from my care so I stopped workung as a Dental receptionist and joined their team. My father passed away at home 3 years later in hospice during his illness I quit my job to be his caregiver and felt a strong desire to keep his legacy going by continuing to help those that can't help themselves. Just a year ago my husband had a brain aneurysm that caused a stroke where 6 months later he passed away at home in hospice where again I was his caregiver and needed to be there for him til the end. My heart goes out to familues who struggle with the pain of taking care of a loved one who is sick and even more so of a loved one who is in the end stages of life. Not only do I know how they feel but I understand their grief . I want to be the one who can comfort not only the patient but the family as well.
