I have been in the field. For more than 25 years, I have been very successful in providing care for individuals according to each clients needs. I pride myself on the fact that I got one particular client who wasn't willing to participate in any exercise and was wheelchair bound to not only participate, but eventually began walking. I am extremely proud to say I absolutely adore working with seniors, I've been doing it for a long time. I love being in the company of them. I absolutely admire the stories and the way they did things.

I am actually a CNA. I became one because of my grandmother. Seeing her in the sick stage made me want to care for every elderly I could. As a child to see someone who means a lot to you, just go down it made me say when I grow up I want to be in the medical field . And I became a certified nurse assistant. I like the fact that they depend on me for care. I also enjoy caring for them, the look in there eyes when they see me makes me feel like I'm important to someone. My love for older people is undeniable ,strong ,and unfailing . I don't see me doing nothing else but sharing my big heart for a person who needs it. My personal achievement is making them smile when they see me coming to care for them. Letting them talk about old times , listening to their life before they needed a person to come in and care for them. And just knowing that they are glad to have a great caregiver In their life, that's what my achievement is. I'm 40 years old. I've been a CNA for 14 yrs I live in Lodi. I have one son he's 20 soon to be 21. I work for Mule Creek State Prison. I am very active I go running 5 days a week. I enjoy go to the movies, walks, and watching lifetime movie network. I found my passion for healthcare through giving birth to my son and the amazing help everyone provided to me during such a stressful time. My love and strive to be a caregiver I got from seeing my grandmother switch to and from nursing homes. There were some good ones and there were some terrible ones. Seeing the ones who treated her terrible like she wasn't a person and hearing how it hurt her, that is why I chose to do caregiving. I wanted someone to treat my grandmother like we do and I would love to extend that hand to you and your loved one.
My name is Monica Parra. Ever since sophomore year in high school ( by the way this was a very long time ago!) I have been involved as well interested in the healthcare industry. I have invested more than 10 years into home health care. When I say +10 years, I am expressing the time I began to take college courses and graduating programs to do that which brings me joy and pure fulfillment in life. I love helping people and I love challenge. It's an instinctive tendency of mine to provide the best care for people. I am well-versed with many illnesses esp. those common within elderly populations. I provide service for outpatient recovering from injuries or post-surgeries. My educational transcripts and professional experience strengthen the framework of my career, but what makes me an exceptional caregiver is the only thing that I believe matters most- my ability to empathize with the complex process of healing from traumatic events, terminal illness, ailments related with aging. I personally have experienced the (5) grieving stages firsthand with my own family and I treat every family with the care I would want for my family because I truly understand what you're all going through. I am convinced that is what makes life worth living: being more about giving to others, being self-less, and remaining grateful.
I am punctual and reliable, you can count on me to be on time. I am proactive and conscientious, if I see something needs attention, I won't wait. I have a positive attitude and I bring encouragement and understanding. I am neat and clean, I don't leave a mess and can help with house work. I care for my patients and I care for their pets too!!! I am a retired RN and young at heart. My approach is holistic meaning mind, body and soul. I am gentle and will not rush my patient. I can sit with my patients and just reminisce about the good ole days or build some blocks. I enjoy a good walk with them in their wheelchair/strollers/other. I also drive for errands/doctors/school. I always wanted to be a nurse since I was a child. When I was a young teenager I volunteered at a local nursing home brushing hair and polishing nails until I was able to get my RN license. I like to invite my patients into activities which they can participate. I love to read or play cards with people or just listen to them tell me all about everything. I am so proud that I finished Nursing School which was and still is my first Love and favorite thing to do! I am IV certified and experienced in medication administration, monitoring ventilators, changing catheters, hook up/take down oxygen tanks, Gtubes, and IV maintenance. and.......................... lots of love, talking and listening.
