I am a retired nurse with experience in geriatrics, pediatrics, mental health, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and dementia. I am certified in many areas of nursing and fluent with many medical equipments including oxygen. I am very out going and love to laugh, cook, do laundry(yes, really!), And I take pride in my work.

Mature, compassionate outgoing, caregiver I love to help people keep their independence

I was 15 years old and just started my freshman year of high school when I was placed in a class called Intergenerational Studies. For 2 hours each day I was taken to the nursing home called Golden Years there in Elgin, Tx. I started off just getting residents from their rooms to come and do activities with me. But it wasn't long and I was working side by side with CNAs, RNs, and at one point the DON had me shadow her for 2 weeks. I just got really interested and a few years after graduation and having my son, I pursued a CNA certification and was assigned the hospice hall and the "lockdown unit" which was occupied by the more violent patients and those with conditions such as Alzheimer's and/or parkinson's, as well as those with behavioral health conditions. I honestly just fell in love with everything about caring for the elderly. Even the hard and very emotional side of the care I provide is something I wouldn't want to stop doing. I would love to get my CNA back but just haven't attempted to do so since my husband passed in 2011. Since my high school days I have worked with all ages of people, from a 2 year old little princess to a 98 year old gentleman I referred to as Fred Astaire due to them looking like twins. He loved it and would smile so big when I walked in every day; and every day he would say "Good morning Ms. Judy (Garland). You feel like dancing the day away?" It's things like that for which I love my work. Please feel free to ask anything, I would love to tell everything now but there is just so much I've been blessed to have experienced with so many different people I'd never be done.

Hello everyone! I am a caregiver based out of Seguin. I have worked as a CNA, adding with various other roles since 2011. I have also personally cared for several family members in my home when they were in need. Being compassionate is my goal and my best quality.

I am very patient, understanding and compassionate. I have well over 25 years of experience in providing care to a wide range of patients/clients. Primarily I've worked with Alzheimer's/dementia patients, I enjoy being able to help and provide care for those who are no longer able to fully care for themselves.

I am very compassionate and caring. I enjoy helping other and ensuring someone is there for our elders in this stage in there life. I enjoy being able to help our elders. I am proud to have completed cna,ma, security and pharmacy technician.

Since I was a little girl I've felt I had a calling to care for others and help them feel better. It's been a life long passion to pursue my education in Nursing. I have a heart of gold, and am extremely compassionate, and empathetic. I do my absolute best to treat others as I would like to be treated. To care for anothers as if it were me, with kindness, respect, and understanding. Seeing a smile on someone's face absolutely fills my heart with joy. I've babysat since I was 10 years of age. I volunteered at a local hospital during High School in the Obstetrics Department, and Operating Room. I also went to Nursing Camp at Houston Baptist University. I stood in on 3 different surgeries, one of which I later had myself. I was a Girl Scout until 21 years of age, and a Camp Counselor and Nurse during the summer after my senior year of High School. I then went on the become a CNA, a Phlebotomist, and Medical Assistant. I plan to further my education in Nursing. I look forward to providing the best care possible to every client I cross paths with professionally in the future.

I always give 100% and do the best job I can, with no exceptions or excuses. I also try to bring a sense of humor to my work. If I can add a smile or laugh to a client’s day, that means a lot to me. It is important to laugh. One of the best qualities as a caregiver is my ability to be empathic. I understand that my client may feel vulnerable, scared, confused and uncomfortable, and being able to identify and allay these fears can create a sense of calm and trust for those being cared for.

I'm very caring and have an outgoing personality. I'm proud to be a caregiver and have been for the last 10 years. I enjoy the little things and try to give back to my community and others.
