I feel like what makes me an outstanding caregiver is that I love what I do. Making a difference in people's lives and being giving of yourself is what I think life is about. I find enjoyment in taking care of people and helping make their day a little easier.I have been a CNA for 18 years and haven't regretted a moment of it. Of course you have your trying days but you push right through it and take a positive attitude to remind yourself of the greater purpose for being in this field. I became a caregiver when my grandfather became ill from cancer. I assisted my grandmother in caring for him until he passed away. I was 14 years old at the time. After graduating high school I got my CNA licence and haven't looked back. My personal achievement was finishing Vocational Nursing school and continuing on to my RN degree.
I am confident that I am a great caregiver due to my dedication to serve. I have a high level of empathy that has stemmed from my mother's many years of experience as a nurse, past volunteering experiences in hospital settings, and my experience as a nurse aide. I work well and keep myself motivated even in disturbing situations. I have a high tolerance for challenging care giving tasks, and love to learn new challenging fundamental nursing tasks as needed. I became a caregiver after realizing that I had the willingness to serve after spending time volunteering at a Kindred Hospital within my neighborhood my last year of high school. I had received compliments from my health science instructor on my attitude and energy despite a patients bad day. It was from this stepping stone experience as a teenager that I knew that God had instilled the gift of strong empathy and the willingness to serve towards care giving. I like being a caregiver because to me it doesn't feel like a job, it feels more like me just being able to fully be myself. I feel that the care giving role naturally fits my personality and my purpose in life, just as God has intended. Due to me being in my first year of nursing school, the experience as a caregiver will shape and mold me into that model of a nurse that is greatly needed in today's society. My main personal achievement at this time that I'm proud of is making it into a nursing program, and being able to use the foundation I have as a caregiver
What makes me a good caregiver is going above and beyond to make sure my patient is cared for like family. I became a Caregiver after my mom was diagnosed with cancer in 2000. I wanted my mom to have the best care so I became her personal caregiver. Caregiving is not just a job for me it's a passion, what I enjoy most about it is when my patients know they can rely on me and trust me . Making the families happy is my goal with each Patient I encounter. When my families are happy and feel like I'm a part of their family it let's me know I'm doing something right.
I am responsible, trustworthy, loving, kind, understanding and full of compassion. I am a licensed minister with over 15+ years of experience within the medical industry treating the elderly. My platform is a calling to help, provide and nurture the sick and shut in from all walks of life. I am willing to go above and beyond to support and make life as comfortable as possible to meet family needs. What I love most about being a caregiver is that I am making a difference and lifting burdens. My personal achievement that makes me proud is when I was challenged in fulfilling my mission to become a minister of God. But I did it! Thanking God daily for the "Great Commission."
