I am confident that I am a great Certified Nursing Assistant, because I believe in giving my all to my client to make them appreciative and Happy. Hello my name is Sela. I am a proud mother of 4. I have worked in the medical field for more then 15 years. I have always had a soft spot for caring for the elderly. My mother worked as a CNA and have always shared her love for caring for elderly it reminded her of her mother when she had to care for her. Since then I have always developed a soft spot for caring for elderly. After having the opportunity to start working with elderly my love and respect grows even deeper.
My career as a caregiver began with taking care of both my parents. My father had cancer and my mother had dementia. I was working as well while taking care of my parents. After they passed away and in 2012 my job where I was working was outsourced, I decided I wanted to make a career of being a caregiver. I went to CTK Healthcare and Career Institute to obtain my CNA certification. Since 2013 to current I have worked privately and with agencies as a caregiver. My skills and duties are to perform light housekeeping, light meal preparations, assist with shower and dressing, medication reminders, assist with shopping for groceries and putting them away, assist with pet care, and companionship. I enjoy interacting with my clients and helping them have a safe, healthy , and clean environment to live in. I understand the challenges of caretaking as well as the stress of a loved one's health changes and needs changing from taking care of my parents. I find great joy in life being there for others and help make there day less stressful.

I am a respectful and respecting lady. I love to care for the elderly as I want them to be happy, meet their basic needs, and be adjusted with their changes in health as life goes on. I have also seen that older people than myself like me. I did not have grandparents in my life, so I have a place for such elderly in my heart. Ever since I started visiting nursing homes and talking to them, I felt satisfied that I am meaningful to them and they enjoy my giving them company and sharing their thoughts. I feel proud about my passion for caring for elderly needs, and have gradually adopted it as a career. P.S.-- I will gladly give you any job references upon request anytime!! I love to help people and I have worked as a Caregiver for over 10 years as well and have enjoyed every minute with my clients. I believe that all people should be treated with dignity and respect their entire lives and those that are elderly have served other's well in their lifetime and I feel they should not be forgotten or treated less than because they are in their latter years.
I'm educated and worked as a nurse for 10 years, I have four older children and I have helped take care of my nephew with Autism. I use to watch children in my home and took care of my dad, who had a stroke and recently passed. I was also taking care of my mom full time, who has Alzheimer's, but now she is in memory care. I have always enjoyed being a caregiver and I love meeting new people and helping others.
