Hello my name is Natalie I've actually been introduced to caregivers since a child my oldest sister is disabled so I had to help my mom alot..I've been doing PCA since 2013 on and off thru the yrs...what drew me to doing a job like it is that 1.i love helping people out and 2. I grew up around it it's a great job.

To answer the first question, what makes me a great Caregiver? Ans. I do extra miles. Listen to the needs of a client. Have patuent & compassion and be supportive to the family. I am reliable, dependable, and very helpful. Iam honest & trustworthy. I am punctual, hardworking and responsible. Second question: Why did you become a caregiver? Ans. Because it is my passion to help others especially for seniors that really need help. Third question: What do you like about being a Caregiver? Ans. I like being a caregiver because I am able to help and take care of the seniors like my parents and make them happy. Fourth or last question: What is a personal achievement you are proud of? Ans. There is only one thing that I felt achieved in my job is to make my client happy of what I have done to them. For me, that is my greatest achievement.

I feel I am a great caregiver because I am empathetic, caring, charismatic, silly, I love to make my consumers smile and be happy. I became a caregiver for the following reasons there are never enough caregivers to go around, I have worked short handed in caregiving since I started. I enjoy helping my consumers live their life to best they can and I am willing to help any way I can to achieve that goal. My personal achievement I'm most proud of is definitely being the best mom, person, friend, I can be and also being myself.

I have been working in senior care and healthcare since the mid 1990's while in college. My experience first began when volunteering in the Adopt a Grandparent program and as an Activities Assistant in a Pittsburgh Nursing Home. I was married to a minister for 20 years and had many great experiences with the elderly in the church and home setting. We moved to Carthage, MO and I became a certified CNA and CMA. I've experience with nursing homes, assisted living, in home care as well as private clients. Through all of this I have truly found a love and compassion for the elderly population! I have also assisted in the care of my own mother and moved back to this area in November, 2019 to do so.

I look at each person as if they were my own parents. I put my heart into everything I do and enjoy each day that I'm given, to spread joy and happiness to every person I meet. I first knew I wanted to be a caregiver when I was 15 years old. I started taking care of my great-grandmother in her home and absolutely loved every aspect of it, so I made it my career. It gives me so much joy to know that everyday I am making a difference in peoples lives by just being there to make life easier, providing the quality empathetic care they deserve and just being that someone they can count on daily. I have been working the the health field for 18 years. I have worked in home care, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and psych hospitals. I love helping people. I love to sit and hear their the stories of their past. I am a very caring person and treat all my residents as if they were my own family. My mother was an aide when I was younger and I always admired what she did and wanted to do the same. I love everything there is about being a caregiver, from the good days to the bad. Every moment, every day is very rewarding. I have two personal achievements that I am most proud of. The first one is my three children. They are my everything and my reason to get up every day and keep doing what I do. My second one is the fact that I am now back in school. I never had enough self confidence to do it but with the support of my children and my boyfriend I know I can accomplish it and be great at it.
