What attracted to you being a caregiver? I always worked in the medical field so I always enjoyed helping people . What do you enjoy most about being a caregiver? My strongest attribute is compassion, patience, and humility. Growing up, I was influenced by my maternal grandmother, who was a Missionary in the Church of Jesus Christ. She would bring strangers to our home all the time, especially during holidays. I learned how you can change a person's mood & life, just by being compassionate. This in itself, attracts me to showing humanistic qualities, and I enjoy making others feel a sense of worth. I have had many struggles of my own in life, too many to name one, as they were all a journey of achievements. Notably, I was the US Navy and survived Dessert Storm from 1988-1992. Some of the affect of being in the service qualified my as a disabled veteran. But it never stopped me from developing my skills as a caregiver.

To me being a caregiver is about making your clients feel comfortable and loving. Your helping a clients family not worry as much about there family member your taking care of. Your helping take some stress off their shoulders. I love seeing my residents smile when you help them with something or your doing activities with them. To me being a caregiver is much more then a job it's building a connection with a new person.
