I try to have an impact in the lives of elderly because they are still people too & deserve to be treated as such. I try to create a bond with each individual to ensure them they are in safe hands and that I actually care about their needs. I have recently completed a CNA course at Jeff State Community College where I also completed a GED class, which were both fulfilling achievements. Although I am a naturally caring and nurturing person, my interest in this area sparked when my grandmother was diagnosed with alzhiemer and dementia didease 3 years ago. I have since helped in caring for her and watched the effect this disease had on individuals and their families. I believe that understanding the aging process is the 1st step to being an excellent caregiver.

I began my interest in caregiving with my grandfather. He quickly progressed with Dementia and I wanted to be around him til the end of his time. I fell in love with helping and caring for him and carried on after he passed and have been doing this for 10 years. I enjoy knowing that I am someone people call when they or someone they love need some TLC. I truly love my job and the people I come into contact with while doing it.
