God blessed me with a passion for seniors and I sincerely enjoy their company. I am easy going, willing to please, and very down to earth. I am very encouraging and uplifting, and I always want the ones I care for to feel comfortable and be happy. It is hard to find people who will help elderly adults, be patient, respectful and trustworthy. I have over 20 years of experience with dementia and Alzhiemers. I am very patient and I understand if the patient asks the same question several times a day and it does not bother me at all. I have managed a team of sitters for several patients and their families. I have also participated in care plan meetings with assisted living facilities, scheduled transportation to doctors and physical therapist. I encourage daily exercise and to keep the patient strong.

My long term career goal is to become an RN. I truly enjoy helping others and feel that a career in healthcare is an excellent way to do that, as well as enjoy a successful career. By starting my career as a caregiver, I'm able to work in a field where I help others and gain real world experience while I work my way through college.

I am a retired school teacher. I am a caring and loving person who is organized, prompt, and willing to treat your loved ones like I would treat my own. As a teacher, I had to handle unexpected behaviors, situations, and family dynamics. I am attracted to being a caregiver, because I want to still work with people, but in a more personal setting where I can meet the needs of not only the client but the families too! In addition to teaching, I have also been a pharmacy tech and am familiar with medications and reactions. I feel I could be an empathetic caregiver, because I lost my husband 5 years ago to cancer. He desired to remain at home and I cared for him there. I understand loss and the need to continue living life after the loss of a loved one.
