My goal is to provide a pleasant environment keeping your loved one safe at home as I did for my mother. I had the pleasure of being my mothers caregiver until her final days and the greatest joy was knowing she felt safe and secure during her final days, I feel all elderly should have that type of security.

I became a caregiver to my mother at a young age as she is disabled and suffers with depression and I thought would be good if I put my skills to the test. I am a good listener and I follow instructions which makes me a good candidate. I enjoy the companionship the most about caregiving because these people are older and wiser so to hear their stories are amazing.

When individuals think of becoming a caregiver, they think of taking care of an old person but it's more to it. It's being able to provide and care for someone's mom or dad. Someone's grandma or grandpa. Being able to satisfy the elderly's needs and make them feel safe at all times which is what attracted me to being a caregiver. One of my biggest achievements i am proud of is being able to meet an elderly at my job named Mia. She was at a really bad place in her life where she was left with no family. I was able to be a helping shoulder where she had someone to listen to her and help her get through her problems. A week before she passed away she gave me the only possession that she owned which was her ring. She said I was the only person who ever sat with her and listened. I felt beyond satisfied knowing I was able to help someone and be a friend.

I am a very caring and understanding person reason being I have assisted others in my family who were and are still ill, I am patient and kind hearted and I love to be helpful to those who are in a sense helpless. I've been attracted to caregiving because I grew up with a sick grandmother who suffered from a stroke, High blood pressure, and dementia in her later years. Ever since I was younger i would always volunteer at the nursery home . Nobody ever told me I had to but i did this because I like helping others and I believe that if I could do this for a living I can provide the best service a caregiver can give to someone else. I have been working for a hospice company for 6 years now. I was a clerk in the office full time, and in the field part time. I decided to start working in the field full time because I love to work with people and make sure they are receiving the best possible care. I have worked with hospice patients, as well as long term clients. I am a great companion for long term care and always put the needs of the client first!
