What makes me a great caregiver is how patient and caring I am. I started caregiving when my dad was in the VA hospice center dying of Dementia and his doctor new that i had been caring for both my parents for over ten yrs and he saw how dedicated to my dads care i was. I was there before work on my lunch break and when i got off work everyday. When my dad passed away he asked if I would like to make some xtra money and hired me to be a caregiver/ companion to his 91yr old mom.

What makes me a phenomenon Caregiver is that I naturally cary a nurturing nature with me that gives me a zeal to help the needed at all times plus Bonus I am a cancer zodiac sign. Also I am quick on my feet and is a great listener. Being a Caregiver is a element I can strive and utilize my skills and do great things for people I can genuinely say that this by far is one the best jobs out there Why? Because I get to help another human being. What attracted me to becoming a caregiver I simply just couldn't withstand seeing my uncle up in age disabled with no one in around but me to help him so I thought maybe I shall take consideration. What do I enjoy most being a caregiver is seeing a smile on my recipient/patience face when they are awarded what they wanted in a timely manner . My best achievement is to not ever being fired from not doing what is asked of me I take so much pride into doing my very best. Thank You

I was attracted to caregiving when I became b a caregiver for my grandmother in 2012 and it made me so happy to be a help to her. I love being able to build companionship with individuals and put a smile on their face letting them know that there is someone who care for them sincerely.

What make me a great care giver is that I truly love helping people see that they still have some independence and offering the care that it take to always make today better than yesterday for them because I truly do care about the quality of life for everyone, I became a care giver because I witnessed my sister in a situation that she needed care and it was just adequate and she was never happy and felt that she had no value, I took over and change her routine and she was back to being the happy smiley person that I knew, . My personal achievement that I'm most proud of is when a friend/coworker of my daughter had suddenly found herself taking care of 5 grandchildren that she did not want the responsible for and after their mother passed away she found herself with 5 additional children out side of her own three, she wanted them placed in the system and they were going to be separated and I just couldn't see that happen to them so I stepped in and was awarded custody of the five and stood by them and daily had reports from their teachers on how much of a positive change they had and they now had structure and they truly did love me and as well I them, it is most memorable to me because the ages were 03,06, 07, 09, and 13 years of age, The tree year old had school at home with Dora and had to participate with all the activity's with the program, he wanted to go to school so he was up and dressed with everyone else and after we walked the siblings to school then his

My first time working as a caregiver was in the year 2015, I was really nervous since I didn't know how the person was going to be like. Although, I already had experience of helping the person during toiletting and bathing since I did my CNA in high school. I just let it expire because I decided to spend my time in college. After my first job as a caregiver, turns out that I loved to be a caregiver and help those that really need it. As a caregiver I asked every person what they love to do and where the love to go so I can start planning things and always made it a great day. Also after giving showers, I made sure they looked amazing the way they would love to be dressed and the ladies make up and hair would be done. The most important thing that attracted me to be a caregiver was companionship. To always let them know that they're not alone and will never be alone. To always make them feel good everyday and never make it them feel depressed. Spending time with them while getting to know each other may bring fun adventures. The most important personal achievement I have made was that I got to gain more experience with each different person that made it a big step for me because I know every job can be different and there's more to learn every day.

Hi I am a private caregiver and I've been a private caregiver for six years and I enjoy it with a passion I personally enjoy, helping an elderly person who is no longer able to care for themselves. Things that make me a great caregiver would be that I have a lot of patience. Those who provide home care to others need to be patient. I understand that there may be changes in plans, things may not go as quickly as planned, and there may be a little hesitation at times on the part of the person receiving care. Compassion is also something I've always had, I've always put myself in someone else shoes and look at things from different perspectives which helps me have a understanding of what the person is going through. Attentiveness is important . By being attentive, I will notice when there are emotional or physical changes in the person I am caring for. I am very dependable, which is needed on a daily basis and very imperative. Building a personal relationship with the person I am caring for is very is very significant and also falls under TRUST. Caregivers are often in a position that will allow them to have access to the belongings of the person they are caring for. It is crucial that the caregiver be someone who is trustworthy and will not breach that trust by taking advantage of the person her or she is caring for. Things I enjoy most about being a caregiver is making new friends, building new bonds and making someones life happier. A personal achievement I am proud of would be getting my associates in Psychology.

I became a caregiver in Los Angeles, CA to my sister-in-laws moms who was bed ridden. Little did I know the years caring for her she was on Hospice, my heart was to her needs. I have always enjoyed the elderly listening to their stories and helping when called on. So after I came out of corporate, I pursued caregiving full time. It's a pleasure to me and a request from God. He has allowed me to put a smile on the face of some transitioning home.
