I have worked as a care Provider for 15 years with the elderly.I enjoy the work because it is rewarding to me and also challenging,you get out of it what you put into it,you have to love the elderly first of all,you must be very patient and understanding,but most of all it takes alot of compassion.You are dealing with people,who have put into society,who have finally come to a point in their lives where they are in need of our help,to take care of them,and to let them know that they still do make a difference and are very important in society still. We can learn a great deal from these people and make a positive impact in their lives. ,they have alot to teach us with there wisdom and knowledge .And when you are dealing with the elderly,you are dealing with their illness also,and thats whats very important.

I became a caregiver simply because I love to help people. I take a lot of pride in my work and it brings me a lot of joy. I enjoy getting to know the patients and try my best to make their day even with the simplest acts. I'm 44 years old, that has 2 daughters ages 26 & 14 I have a 4 yr old Grandson. I've been a Caregiver at age 12 til present. I still take care of my disabled veteran dad & he's 70yrs old that has had multiple operations from Kidney, gastrointestinal & brain. I took care of my Grandmother til Aug of 2019 she passed from dementia. As of present, I work 4 days a week 8 hrs a day. At different hours, he's a close family friend he's 79 just had hip surgery...So I LOVE taking care & helping others especially Seniors that can't do for themselves.....I'm a honest, reliable, respectful, a Very Clean woman. I think my Personality and compaction makes me a good Caregiver. I became a caregiver because I wanted to take care of people the way the nurses who take care of my dad did. I am young with a big heart, who is determined, kind, funny, smart, fast paced, responsible, respectful, and ready for work. I was always the one in family who always tried to help others as much as I could from always visiting my grandma and cleaning her home and keep her company, which is why I wanted to be a caregiver. A great caregiver I have been taking care of my mom that has been diagnosed with renal kidney Failure for 13 years. I am her certified Peritonitis Daialysis nurse. I have been certified to do her home treatment for the last 3 years. I am very friendly and love to listen to elderly stories.
