Hello my name is Roderick Spikes I am a 23 year old Bay Area native. For the last 12 years of my life I be been someone deeply connected with non profit work and working with youth of all different aspects. I was a youth consultant for a non profit organization that tailored educational and medical services to youth 11-24 for free. As a youth consultant I was the bridge between the youth and adults. I have also specialized in peer mediation so working with people is something I do very well and handeling stresssed environments are ideal. I also created a curriculum for peer mediation at the youth center. I am a hip hop dance teacher and youth advocate! I have experience in in home care as my neighbor and grandfather both use is and sometimes I have to step in to help when they care giver has emergencies and so forth. I am someone who loves music old and new and love to sing and have found That singing to certain clients help them when they feel anxious or just overwhelmed in general with everyday life issues. I'm a really good cook as I love to eat and eat healthy I'm very much into fitness and am a group fitness instructor! I find it easier to help clients get into the swing of things or increase their mobility if able by creating a very easy dance routine for them to have fun practicing or putting together different movements they can do to promote blood circulation.

I am proud of self as I was able to take care of my mother and others while working in retail. I managed to utilize my caregiving skills and was able to market myself through other programs and be on registered list with FREED and In Home Support Services. I began as a teen when I first learned how to take care of elderly as I was raised by my grandfather and other elder relatives and began to study nutrition and other gerontology topics while in college. I have been in other areas of medical personnel as well. Current TB test 2/1/2016. Fingerprinted LiveScan and DOJ.

I love helping people and making sure who's ever in my care is taken well care of and I'm proud of my accomplishments in school and being an educator. Hi my name is ruby. I been a caregiver for the past 3 years now. I have taken care of elderly between the ages of 50 to 89. I became a caregiver because Its the most rewarding thing a person can do. There is no reward in this world than watching another person smile because of you.

I love working with people who are mature in nature. They are knowledgeable and well versed. I treat the people that I care for not as a patient but as a family. I felt indebted to our elders so I am finding ways to support their daily activities and encouraging them to get their independence back. My personal achievement on this job is self-fulfillment, security and experiences to be shared to younger generation. Got an Associates Degree in Medical Assisting /2011, aspiring to be a pre-natal nurse. Recently I am working as a Certified Nursing Assisting here in East Bay. Hopefully to work with you all and giving me a new adventures.

My interest and love for the elderly is truly intrinsic and I genuinely enjoy working with older adults. I take pride in renewing a senior’s interest in living, helping them to exercise cognitive functioning, reinforcing socially acceptable patterns of behavior and most importantly improving the quality of life of my clients and their family members. Through my personal experience I know all too well how difficult it can be to work through the medical system, to communicate effectively the needs of your loved one, and to be assured every day that they are receiving compassionate and appropriate care. I have personally experienced the emotional roller coaster families go through during a medical crisis, and the emotional and physical wear and tear that extended illness can take on both the patient and the family. In addition to providing companionship, I can help monitor medications, prepare delicious meals, keep home and laundry clean, transport to Dr's appointments, etc. My main focus is to adhere to each individuals needs on a personal level, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Companionship for seniors and caregiving provides me with an opportunity to give back, to provide peace of mind to seniors, to provide comfort and to add to someone's quality of life for those who need a little extra help to live out their lives in the comfort of their familiar surroundings.
