Hi! I'm Veronica. I've been a caregiver for almost 3 years and love it ! What made me most want to become a caregiver is being able to help those with physical and mental disabilities who aren't as able to do things on their own as others may be. I enjoy being a caregiver and being able to be that happy and outgoing friend for the clients and helping them live as normal of a life as others who are able to do more. My personal achievements that I'm proud of is receiving employee of the month for 3 months in a row at a care facility.

I am a compassionate and caring person, I love to listen to people tell stories and I love to learn new skills. I also enjoy helping others in any way that I can, I would like to be a caregiver, because it would allow me to help people who are unable to do most things for themselves. What I enjoy most is getting to know new people and learning how to help them and be there to support them in any way I can. I am personally proud of my leadership skills and my acceptance to multiple colleges that I applied to.

I believe my personality is defined in many ways. I enjoy helping others and seeing the end result of success in my clients, I carry a smile on my face, I am encouraging, I never say no to anything asked of me. What attached me to being a caregiver would be the look on a clients face when i do something that makes their day better or makes their health better. A achievement i have made would be gaining the trust in my client enough to be the only one wanted.I had a lady who was so uncomfortable with other care takers and when i would arrive it would be such a sign of relief for her.she was able to truly be herself and feel comfortable enough to bath and she really enjoyed how i can throw together a luxury meal out of a can of tomatoes and some chicken and salad.

I recently became a stay at home mom and decided I would like to keep busy during the day while the kids are at school. I use to take care of an elderly woman with cancer many years ago before I had kids. I really enjoyed spending time with her and being able to make her day better. She was very depressed so I would try and find ways to cheer her up. She loved when I would do her hair, makeup, and nails. It made her feel pretty and gave her a reason to want to go out. She also enjoyed playing Dominoes and watching game shows. She was very thin and frail and had no appetite. I would have to cook anything she was craving to try to help her gain weight. I gave her her medication, weighed her daily, fed her, did her laundry, but most importantly I was her friend. I really miss her and enjoy helping others. I feel I have a lot of energy and love to give so why not start caring for someone in need again. I know I would want the same kind of care when I am unable to do things myself.
