My name is Teri Betz. I live in the north valley area of Helena. I am married and have several furry creatures residing with me. I started in care giving while working at Opportunity resources as a case manager for developmentally delayed adults. My mother-in-law, who was 100 moved in with my husband and myself and needed 24/7 assistance. I was med certified and developed a medication list that we and respite providers could follow, My mother-in-law, Tish, needed personal care with bathing, skin and hair care, medication, dressing, laundry, toileting, food assistance and diet planning. she needed to be monitored for falls. She was also developing dementia and had "sundowners". Tish was a wonderful, gracious lady and a privlege to care for. My husband and I were very sad when she passed away at 101 years old. It was through caring for Tish that I found my calling in caregiving. shortly after my job ended at Opportunity Resources, I began working with Home Instead. I had two clients there and both were delightful! Care give ceased during covid. I currently have one client now for several hours one day a week. I enjoy caregiving. I enjoy working with elderly! and I especially enjoy hearing my client's life stories.

I am compassionate, great listening skills, very caring, willing and very reliable. I like helping people. I know what it is like to need a caregiver and how important it is to give the best care. I like catering to my clients and their needs. Getting along with the client and the family is very important as a caregiver.

What makes me a great caregiver? Well I honestly feel like I was born to serve and take care of loved ones as well as those that cannot take care of themselves. I feel like the world is so fast paced these days that we forget about those aging around us, I have been caregiving for over 10 years professionally but have taken care of my family/friends my whole life. In this field I feel like you have to have a certain amount of patience, care, loyalty and a warm touch and I with me it comes naturally. I love to care for everyone no matter the circumstances.

My name is Christine Nguyen, I completed my CNA Nursing program during my senior year of high school. I have known ever since I lost my grandfather, and nearly lost my dad, that my passion is being a nurse to help and heal those in need. I have previously worked at Alamitos Belmont Rehabilitation Hospital, in the ER at the Veterans Affairs Hospital of Long Beach, as well as a homecare/hospice caregiver with Cambrian Homecare. I've always been a natural care-taker. I practically raised my 4 younger siblings. I nannied while I was in college to help pay for school and had so many referrals that I had to stop taking clients. It is through one of those families that I eventually became a caretaker, the grandmother only wanted me to take care of her after watching how I was with her grandchildren. I am very proud of learning physical therapy techniques so that I can properly help my clients with light exercises that help them to feel better. A personal achievement I am proud of is watching a Patient in a Wheelchair climb up 18 Stairs and then climb down them . . . that's 36 Stairs total! A personal achievement I am proud of is I had to walk to work one day due to circumstances and I did . . . 4 Miles!

I believe my academic accomplishments, and work experience in a clinical setting have provided me with the credentials needed to thrive as a Registered Nurse and a caregiver. I have had the privilege of working as a care-giver, for a stroke patient, while I completed my studies at College of Marin. As a care-giver I learned the value of the professional skills that come with assisted living, and rehab routines. At the skilled nursing facility (Marin Post Acute Center) I was in charged of taking care of patients that were discharged from acute care centers and needed to undergo rehab before being able to go back home. Most of the patients I cared for at Marin Post Acute Center, were unstable and needed great care in adjusting their medications and daily routines in order to improve their recovery time. I worked closely with medical directors to ensure unstable patients did not have to end up back at the acute care setting and their health was not declining while in rehab. Before entering nursing school I worked as a surgical recovery technician, for the organ procurement organization One Legacy. As a surgical recovery technician, in order to properly perform aseptic surgical recoveries of tissues, I became well acquainted with infectious control principles and practices--such skills were put to great use in unprecedented times of COVID-19.

Since childhood, I have always interested working in Healthcare field. I came to US at the age of 20 and go to choose my major which is nursing. I'm caring by nature and I have always believe that being a nurse would be an ideal career for me. I'm a certified nursing assistant and home health aide. I love spending time with my patients, client. I enjoy my job because when I'm taking care of patients I bring smile and comfortness in them and that's always my goal. I never got chance to take care of my grandparents so whenever I take care of my elderly patients, they remind me of my grandparents. This career is going to help with my nursing career in future and also in my personal life.
