Hi there. I'm currently a student at CSU San Bernardino. I'll be graduating this year with honors and a degree in biological psychology. I have experience as a care taker, have taken courses in human development and have an adequate knowledge of various neurological disorders. I'm available all day Friday through Sunday, but can be pretty flexible on most weekdays too. I'm compassionate, detail oriented, patient, and committed to providing excellent care. I enjoy building relationships between clients and feeling like I'm able to improve quality of life.

I rarely will complain when I am working, because for me working is not just a job, it's changing someone's day, mood, or energy. I want to give others the peace of mind that their loved ones are being properly taken care of because if I were looking for someone to care for my loved ones, I would hope they were willing to do anything to ensure their happiness and safety.

I'm a compassionate caregiver with experience serving various clients ranging in ages. My responsibilities include assisting patients with daily living activities and household tasks. What attracted me to becoming a caregiver was that I had been a special education teacher and I eventually found myself making a career change to caregiving. I'm personally proud that I have been doing this kind of work now for 9 plus years. I fully love and enjoy what I do. And I enjoy meeting new families and loving their family members as my own

I am currently a nursing student at California State University, San Bernardino. I enjoy spending time with family, gardening, reading, and volunteering with Coyote Nurses, a nursing student organization at CSUSB. I chose to pursue a career in nursing and become a caregiver because I have always loved helping people, especially those who need it the most. I enjoy giving my time to others, and offering support. Back in 2010, my Grandpa passed away. My family and I were the primary caregivers for him for about two weeks before his passing. I realized then that I wanted to commit my life to not only helping patients, but their families as well. That was the moment I knew I wanted to be a nurse. The thing I like most about being a caregiver is the personal fulfillment I feel after caring for someone. I finish my task and/or shift knowing I made a difference, even if it doesn't feel like it! One personal achievement I am proud of is entering my last year of nursing school! I will graduate with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing in June 2016. Nursing school took a lot of commitment, hard work, and perseverance. That's something I will always be proud of.

I wanted to become a nurse to help people. To listen to people and make them feel cared about. While I was taking care of my mother for the last 10 years of her life. Many nurses noticed the care I gave to my mother and told me, "You should be a nurse, you would be a great nurse!" I like seeing the looks on patients faces, when they notice I am really listening to them and I remember how they like their coffee. I excelled in my classes. I was happy whenever I earned 100% on a test. I was also happy when I could help my classmates understand something. I am currently a CNA. In 5 years I hope to be able to go back to school and become and RN.

I love helping others and making everyone feel as equally important. I am very outgoing, friendly, and patient especially when it comes to communicating with people. Being a caregiver has taught me to appreciate and value life. If I can help someone else and make them feel comfortable and happy that is what's important to me. Iv achieved many things being a caregiver such as helping and making them feel accepted no matter what.

I am friendly and out going, and have a calm head in emergencies. My grandmother and aunt had cancer and wanted to stay in their homes so I helped take care of them until they passed away which s what led me to accept a position in home health care. I feel that people are more comfortable at home surrounded by familiarity and family rather then in hospitals and I enjoy helping them stay as fit and healthy as possible. Getting to know people and learning about what they like is what I enjoy and if it helps their families peace of mind all the better. I also help train service dogs and have both a Dachshund and a German Shepherd that I can bring for visits If you feel pet therapy may help, or if they are used to pets and no longer able to take care of one, that is up to you. I have experience with helping patients recover from surgery and can keep them on track with daily exercise and have no problem changing bandages. I also love reading and music. I am most proud of helping a patient who went through two surgeries at 87 not only get back on her feet but outside taking daily walks.

Being a Caregiver is so rewarding and I love helping people continue living their daily lives as much as they did before they needed my services. I became a Caregiver because I really care about others and I have always helped people. I have a compassion for people and a caring attitude. What I like about Care giving is my ability to help others puts a smile on their face. I have helped elderly people who thought no one cared for them anymore. Knowing that someone cares brought about a change in their lives for the better. Currently I helped a elderly woman with getting her medications mailed to her. I also helped her sign up for physical therapy and nurse visits. She has a supplemental health insurance plan and because she is 87 years old communicating with others was difficult. I made the phone calls for her and now she is doing so much better. This lets you know how I am the type of person that goes over and above for people. I am persistent and organized. I enjoy what I do and dependable. It takes a lot of patience to help others in need and I practice each day patience and realize I am here to make sure others receive the services they require. I have been a caregiver for 20 years.

Caregiving has been one of the most rewarding jobs I have ever done. The joy that comes with helping others, watching them live a quality and a dignified life is amazing. Caring and serving people is my calling and mission in life.

I believe the personality traits that I carry that help me be a great caregiver are compassion and patience and caregiving has definitely helped strengthen those traits. What initially attracted me to be a caregiver was just knowing that I could help someone that was in need. I enjoy helping others and making great relationships down the line as well. What I enjoy the most about caregiving is learning about my resident and becoming acquainted with them, I always enjoyed when residents would tell me all about their life, it was nice having a resident reminisce and be able to share that memory. A personal achievement I am proud of is being able to have the opportunity to work and go to school.

I became a CNA in 1994 because I liked the idea of helping people who really needed help. I've met some really interesting people over the years and I've helped many as well, either working with the mentally ill, to make their life a little happier, to helping someone make the transition of passing on when working hospice/end of life care. I'm experienced in many areas--dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, moo/mental disorders, hospice/end of life care, developmental disabilities, cancer, recovery of surgery etc.

I have some limited experience helping to take care of my parents. I think I have the patience to help. I also know how to drive and am good with technology.
