Hello! My name is Mikayla. I became a caregiver because I find it to be the most fulfilling career and lifestyle. I enjoy helping others and feel that I will be doing this for all of my life. I plan on pursuing a career in nursing and wanted to start in home health first to gain experience. My past three or so years working in in-home health has given me so much knowledge and really made it clear that healthcare is where I want to be. My absolute favorite part of being a caregiver is the relationships you build with the clients and how important they do become. I have always pushed myself forward and continued with what was in front of me. I think I find that to be my biggest personal achievement, the drive to do something good. It is a goal that I try and achieve on a daily basis. I am twenty-one years old and was born here in San Diego and have lived here all my life. Both of my parents are Rn's (registered Nurses) so I was kind of brought up with the healthcare settings and have always wanted to work within healthcare. I absolutely love what I do and am excited to continue my career.

1. I became a caregiver because I enjoy being able to help people. 2. As a caregiver I like knowing that I'm providing the resident in the care facility with the care and respect they deserve. 3. A personal achievement I'm proud of is my experience with a resident in a long term care facility. While I was there during my cna clinical trials I noticed how other cna's around me kept avoiding the constant calls from a certain resident. I learned that they did not like working with her because she wasn't very friendly and she was constantly clicking the call button. I began to answer her calls and when I was with her I listened to her and provided her with the exact things she wanted without only doing some of what she asked for. After my short time with her I noticed that she seemed friendlier and her calls didn't occur as often. 4. I was a US Army paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne. I served for four years and moved to San Diego where I currently am a full time biology student.

I FEEL LIKE I AM A GREAT CARE PROVIDER BECAUSE I CARE I DONT JUST LOOK AT BEING A CARE PROVIDER AS A JOB I ACTUALLY LOVE TO CARE FOR PEOPLE CAREGIVING IS MY PASSION; I LOVE IT!! I THINK MY GREATEST ACHIVEMENT WAS GETTING INTO THIS PROFESSION AND ACTUALLY BEING ABLE TO PUT A SMILE ON A PERSON'S FACE THAT HAD NOT SMILED IN YEARS. I HAVE BEEN A CARE PROVIDER FOR OVER 11 YEARS VERY RELIABLE READY TO WORK FEXABLE AND I LOVE TO CARE FOR THE NEEDS OF OTHERS I HAVE GREAT EXPERIENCE FROM MOBILE TO BED BOUND OR PARALYSED PERSON.

I became a caregiver because many of the elders around me were starting to need help with various day to day activities. The most fulfilling thing to me about caregiving is being able to make someone else day better by simply just being there. I am proud of myself for making the decision to further my education. Hello, my name is Bobbi Ann Friedman. I'm upbeat, have a lot of energy and have excellent interpersonal skills. I'm currently taking classes to get my Alcohol and other drug studies degree. I have a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and another Bachelor's degree in psychology. I get along great with all ages of people, especially the geriatric client. I volunteer at UCSD working with drug and alcohol addicts at the out patient psychiatric clinic. I love to help people and see that wonderful smile I often see when I'm working with all clients. I have worked in the field overseeing the caregivers and doing evaluations on them. Also, I go to the patients home if there is a particularly difficult patient and help out the assigned caregiver. I worked in the office doing administrative work and hiring and orienting new caregivers. In addition, I do inservices for the caregivers at the office. I would go out to the hospitals to interview new patients who are going home and choose a caregiver who would fit the best with the client. I would contact the MDs if necessary to report changes of condition or just weekly status reports of the patients. I love to work with the patients. They are so much happier at their home rather than a hospital or facility. I am proud of myself for continuing my education and doing exceptional work with clients at home. I enjoy meeting the client's family and working with them to keep the family and patient happy.

I would like to become a caregiver because I care for others and I would like to assist someone who needs my help. What I like about being a caregiver that you get to know the person who you would be taking care of, you find out their needs and what you can do to help them. You can also learn about each other and life experiences which can develop a special friendship with the person you are taking care. A caregiving job for is more than a job, is actually caring for someone else as if they are part of your family. There are still many goals I want to accomplish but what I am proud of that I have achieved is that I am in college, and I am trying my best to do good and everything that I do is a step closer for me to become a nurse. I do have my parents support but I also want to be able to help them. I have had a couple of jobs mostly in retail , which I gained valuable skill. I really enjoy taking care of people, even though I do not have a lot of experience as a caregiver, I would do my best to assist them. As a young child my mother had a stroke, helping her to get well i knew this was a passion at a young age. Making a difference in other peoples lives. I work with a blind client and helping James to learn to walk, bathe ,and, feed himself is a personal achievement for me. I love caregiving, I am reliable, dependable, and a fast learner.

I enjoy working with seniors and seeing them smile. I have over 7 years of work experience working with seniors in their homes and within assisted living environment. I have experience working with dementia patients, and those with different stages of Alzheimer's disease as well as having experience with Parkinson's Disease. I have experience with patients who have arthritis. I do various tasks including bathing, feeding, dressing, transferring and mobility, incontinence care, house hold tasks, provided companionship, provide transportation, medication reminders, cooking, and other responsibilities.

Hi I'm Sarah, it will be so wonderfull to meet you, as I am a people person. I have had several professional careers that all involved serving the public. I took an early retirement to return to school for nursing. But I felt I needed experience so when i graduate I can hit the ground running, this is why im doing caregiving. I'm going on two years of doing this, not to mention I cared for my own mother during her two year battle with cancer. I also love animals and care for then as if they were my own. I have became a caregiver because I love helping others, I'm a people person. As a caregiver I'm able to touch peoples hearts and make a difference in their lives. I'm proud of the fact that I'm able to make people feel comfortable, and I take great pride in the work that I do. Since I was a young child I'd taken a pleasure in helping others. I helped out along side my grandmother for years with that special Olympics and a handicap bowling league. As an adult on my free time I've delivered meals for Meals on Wheels. I've worked in group home. I found that doing these types of services not only make the person I'm helping happy, but it also makes me happy.
