I became a caregiver because I'd had a first hand experience taking care of an aunt for over seven years and was training to become a nurse, so it seemed natural to start with home care and I've enjoyed it ever since. I get a sense of accomplishment and reward from caregiving and have always appreciated the holistic aspect of care that I give to all my clients. Caregiving is very personal and intimate in the sense that you're in the client's home, the most vulnerable space, so it is very important to me to provide the client with a comfortable, reliable, and compassionate care that you'd get from a loved one. A personal achievement I am proud of is putting myself through nursing school, it was one of the toughest periods of my life and I thought I'd never make it through. I am very loyal caring and understanding. I will go out of my way to do things that may not be in my job description if I can do it and if not I don't rest till I find a way to get the problem solved. I am very respectful and ask for the same in return. If I am ever faced with a problem, I don't waste time worrying about it, rather I find ways to change the outcome. I believe that I am a great caregiver because every client that I've had in the past have enjoyed my care and we're very sad to see me go, I've never been asked to leave any home and have had most clients entrust me with their home keys and other personal items and most other clients have been very generous during holidays or birthdays without my

The most important reason as to why I became a caregiver was that I wanted to be able to make a difference in this world and to show compassion to others and to be able to care for a person in need. I am absolutely greatful for all the wonderful opportunities of meeting great people through this line of work. I have been in the medical field since I was 18. I started as a CNA and worked at 3 different nursing homes. Last year I graduated and obtained my LVN license and have been working as an LVN for a year. I enjoy working with the elderly I always thought there was something special about them. What makes my job so rewarding is knowing that I can make someone smile. Having compassion and empathy and being sympathetic is a skill I have always had since I was a child. I have 20+ years eing a care giver, 10 of those years I spent working at facilities for the elderly and 3 years working for hospice seeing my patients either in their homes or at a facility and the other ten years I helped family and friends out as needed. What I enjoy more is that I get to learn new things with them and teach them new things. Also enjoy helping them however I can. What I'm proud of is that I get patients thanking me for helping them out while they had to stay in the emergency room. It really makes me happy but sad when they have to leave.
