I have a passion/ patience for taking care of the elderly. I started taking care of my own grandparents and thats when i knew my help was needed. My greatest joy about helping the elderly is listening to the stories they tell about their childhood. Be able to be there for my family. I'm very responsible, trustworthy, honest, reliable and I love to read and learn new things.

Am patient, loyal , reliable, charismatic, caring and calm. Caregiving made me want to be in health care . I realized that companionship is one of the gift one can give another person . I love taking care of people .

1. I love providing home care giving services to those that would otherwise not be able to do so. The smile on their faces is overwhelming and makes me feel i have done my job right. I have always enjoyed helping people in need, so I know I am doing right thing. 2. Being a caregiver for 13 years has helped me in so many ways, I have worked in hospitals (South Africa), nursing home facilities, private duty. I love what I do in helping each client I've ever worked with. Taking care of sick people that needs my help gives me joy in my heart and it let me know they need people to work with them. 3. I take pride in whatever I do, and work to the best of my ability to satisfy whoever I am caring for. Becoming a caregiver, was a promise I had made to my late grand mother when I was about 10 years old. I had told her that I would like to become a nurse when I grow up so, I could take care of her when she gets older. Unfortunately she did not get the chance to see me grow up, she passed away when I was 14 years old. I kept that promise and got my CNA certification 1993. Working with the elderly, gives me that feeling of pride as though I am taking care of my grand mother. I like what I do taking care of those who cannot do much or, nothing at all for themselves. It gives me joy at the end of the work day, knowing that I had done a good job by making someone happy. My personal achievement that I am most proud of is, buying a house for me and my two kids, six years after migrating to the USA from my Island Home Jamaica. That is all from hard work and ambition.

My name is Hether Fernandes, i have been a caregiver for the past 4 years with a few breaks within, however i love what i do, i am a very loving, caring person and i do my job with authenticity and professionalism. I was attracted to this profession because i just love people and i enjoy what i do for them. I feel good when my clients say that i make them happy. I became caregiver because I got tired of hearing about how some caregivers treated their patients and because my mother was sick and I took care of her until she passed away. I would give the same care and concern as if they were a part of my family. I like being able to help others in a way that they are not able to take care of themselves.
