What makes you a great caregiver? I consider myself as a great non-medical caregiver because I've been performing this task for many years, but more so on a regular basis for over the past ten (10) years. Growing up, I observed my mother, who was the Commandant of The British Red Cross Society, took care of the wounded, sick and other individuals who might have gotten hurt and needed care. I develop that same sense and passion to service people. Now that my mother is no longer with us, I left the corporate arena and started service in memory of my beloved mother to carry on her legacy. Even though I'm not a certified caregiver, I am experience in the services I provide, as I mock everything I saw and learn from my dear mother. Why did you become a caregiver? I became a non-medical caregiver because I wanted to carry on my mother's legacy and it was something I grew to love. I left the corporate arena to assist the less fortunate who need more assistance in this field of work and it's more gratifying to me than fighting Wall Street. What do you like being a caregiver? I like being a non-medical caregiver as it's more gratifying for me. It also put me in a position to assist those who are less fortunate in paying enormous fee in assisted care living. What's the personal achievement you are proud of? The personal achievement that I am proud of is the fact that I work along with families and their budget to keep them in their homes longer, rather than for them going to an assisted living facility. I help keep them in their homes, which is their first priority.

Hello, My love for the aging started as a young child when my parents took me and my siblings to a care center and had us participate in "Adopt a Grandparent" program. Mind you, this was long before volunteering was what you did, and certainly who would bring children into a nursing home? But my parents did, and it instilled in me a deep love and respect for my elders. As a Care Manager, I have gone to doctor's appointments, so "Children back home can understand what is going on." And hired and arranged schedules with aids. I also travel. I am a former Army Medic. So, I can do blood pressures and medications, and cook a healthy meal and make sure there is plenty of food in the house too. I recently transitioned my morning client into assisted living and now have mornings available. I am stable and can provide you with great care, honesty, magnificent work ethic, and love hearing all your stories. I can give you my current resume and references if you ask. Before my mother passed away, I used to be her primary caretaker. while taking care of her I found a passion in helping people. As a caregiver I love the fact that I can be able to be someone not only their aids but also a friend to them. A personal achievement that I am proud of is to graduate college. I am a very passionate, nice, honest, reliable and loving young lady. I take my job seriously because I keep on reminding myself that being able to help someone in life is more of a calling and if only I can make a difference in one person life then my journey on earth was worth it.

I am a 29 year old mother of two. I have been married for 8 years. My passion is to become a Registered Nurse and pursue openning my own senior care home. I have worked as both a caregiver and a medication technician. I am open to all shifts but my preference is overnights. Long shifts are not a problem for me. I pride myself in my ability to help others hold on to their diginity even though they may need some added help. Caring for others is truly my passion and I believe firmly that the only way to do great work is to love what you do!

I have always prided myself on being a good listener. Be it through volunteer experiences at an AIDS hospice, a shelter for domestic violence victims or in my work in education- I've learned that listening is an ACTIVE verb. I acquired a brain injury Christmas Day 1995. Since then, I've relearned how to work and talk. More than that, though, I've learned the importance of dignity and gratitude.

I am currently a sophomore at Sacred Heart University, majoring in nursing. I am caring, passionate and very helpful. I have worked in the elderly setting and adored it, which attracted me to being a caregiver. Becoming a caregiver will help me get some of the experience I need towards my degree.

I have been working in the mental health field for about 25 yrs now. I enjoy helping people max their potential. I have a big heart and I'm very generous. I go the extra mile to make sure someone is happy and comfortable. Recently, I was a caregiver to a half blind half deaf woman who walks with a walker. She was too depressed to cook for herself. With my encouragement, she was able to cook for herself by the time I stopped working for her even though it cut my pay in half. I genuinely care about people. This is my passion.

I am a very hard working, kind women who is willing to help everyone as best as I can. I truly give my all to give others the best care possible and I currently just finished a CNA course to further my career in caregiving. I am proud of wanting to help others so they can continue to enjoy their life even when they can no longer enjoy the activities they are used too.

I am a very caring individual, the respect I have is for children the elderly and animals. I would do anything for any of them. Im responsible, caring, on time and warm hearted. I teach the children, I learn from the elderly and care for the animals. I've learned a lot over the years medically, knowing when to react to a situation that could be serious, how to listen, and be strong in any situation. I feel caring for people in need is forever rewarding to me.

I am a happy, positive, forward thinking, enthusiastic individual who have an innate passion to make a postive difference in the lives of others. My passion to help others achieve a full live and regain independence propelled me to work in the healthcare field/ederly population. I have acquired many skills(great communication, organized, adaptable, active listener) over the years that helps me to be an effective caregiver. But, my empathetic and compassionate nature has allowed me to build trust and good rapport, and have meaningful connections with all clients i work with. I enjoy working as a caregiver because it's such a learning and rewarding experience. I love putting smiles on the faces of all my clients and seeing them achieve milestones that they thought was impossible. I see myself or parents whenever I'm taking care of a client which has helped me to provide quality care and approach them with unconditional postive regard. To date, the personal achievement i am most proud of is helping a family unite who was seperated for years. I am an amazing caregiver who will treat your love one with the utmost respect, go above and beyond and provide excellent care.
