Hello! My name is Emily and I'm a 34 year old caregiver and Social Worker! I started care giving when I was very young as I lived with my grandmother which was such a true blessing! I always went to outtings with my Grandmother and engaged with the community which made caregiving an easy choice in career path for me. In college i majored in Social Work with a concentration in Geriatric Care. I e been working with elderly ever since. Being a caregiver is such an honor - it's all about putting away your needs to assist others. I love people and spending quality time with others. I found my passion for working with people and caring for others at the YMCA through service and later employment. I enjoy the arts and teach art classes and recently started to sell jewelry to raise money for the nonprofits that I support in this community. I believe any job or service that improves the quality of life for another is how i would like to spend my time.

I am Nakia Mccray, but I prefer to be called Nike like the shoe. I am a student athlete, here at the great Florida Atlantic University. I am originally from Saint Augustine, North Florida area. I feel that I am a very interesting person so It is hard to put myself on paper, because I can not cover everything I think of myself. I am extremely social which i think it was of my best characteristics. My grandmothers back home are elderly and need care,so I tend to be a great help to them but because I am 5 hours away from home I can not be a help to them but to someone else . I enjoy multiple other things in life . One of my goals is to be an Orthopedic Surgeon so this will really help. I really love the beach too

I enjoy being with people and learning new things. One to one interactions with people and being able to help people is what attracts me to be a care giver. A personal achievement of mine that I am very proud of is being able to run 2 miles in 18 mins!

There are 4 questions here so I'll orderly answer them. *My personal traits are pretty common; I love helping others, I'm kind, patient, respectful, extremely generous, and the list can go on and on and on haha... *What attracted me to being a caregiver is the fact that I love being around the elderly. I was raised with all adults in a home, so it became soul catcher for me. Where can you ever go wrong with spending time with the elderlies? The way I see it, the older the person gets...the more wisdom that lies within. *What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the satisfaction I get during and afterwards. I'm working but it doesn't even feel like I'm working (can't get better than that). Like I mentioned a couple seconds ago, I love my old people. The words of advice I receive from them are just to die for! You can't get that anywhere else (for FREE at least ). *I am proud of being the first generation college graduate... :) I pray there are more personal achievements I can be proud of!
