My grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer s disease in 2012, it is when I stepped in To help my mother to take care of her. In 2013 I realized this: if I can help my grandmother smile everyday, and to take care of her for a whole year I can actually help others that aren't able to do as much , the elderly s and the disabled that might need a little help around the house, cleaning and cooking , fixing there bed and etc. that s when I made the step to go to school and ever since than I've been the best caregiver I can be. My goal is to make sure that my patients are being well taking care of. What attracted me of being a care give? When my grandmother wa diagnosed with Alzheimer's and I had to take care of her and I see the help I give her I can help others. I'm proud of making every single patients happy , by doing what I do best which is taking very good care of them.

I'm 33 and have been coaching athletics for 10+years. I am very active, strong and healthy so the physicalness of the job suits me. I am a motivating individual by profession but also personally enjoy seeing people improve and accomplish their goals. I became a CNA to help a friend and family member who needed care and now I take pride in helping others improve their independence/quality of life. My recent achievement as a trainer has been over the course of the past two years helping a patient improve from not being able to walk 100 ft safely, to walking a half of a mile with no assistance and also getting up and down independently without falling.

My name is Nicole Soto, and I am a great caregiver because I go beyond the job requirements when it comes to being a Nurse Assistant. My main first priority as a caregiver it to assure my clients safety. Once that is assured I go the extra mile and give them emotional and psychological support by becoming their friend. I listen to them and give them good company. This is usually done by having intellectual conversations with them depending on their level of brain functioning. I have worked with patients that has suffered from Alzheimer and Dementia where they were incapable to carry an intellectual conversation for a long time period, but we still conversed by making one another laugh. Studies have been done that prove that if a patient has emotional support, positive attitude, and belief that they have control over their health they have a higher successful rate of recovering. Also, if they are either in the Intensive Care Unit or in Hospice and they have emotional support, positive attitude, and belief that they have control over their health they are more likely to live longer. Overall I am a great caregiver because not only do i ensure their safety but I ensure their quality of life by making it memorable in a positive way.
