Being positive & a helping hands has always been my motive since a young child due to my mother also doing home health aide working with the mentally disable for 21 years now & my grandmother, aunt, & cousin also owning their own group homes. They all instilled in me to always be a helping hand and to never look at any one different due to a mental or physical inability.

Hi! My name is Jessica and I currently seeking to gain more clinical experience for my PA school applications. I graduated from UCF in spring of 2023 with a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences and a minor in Chemistry. I have been volunteering with VITAS Hospice since October, and have gained valuable experience in learning to deal with end-of-life care and companionship. I enjoy getting to spend my time taking helping those around me, and find myself particularly good at problem-solving and creative thinking. As someone who's grandparents live overseas I find myself wanting to take care of those around me as I would want the same done for my family. With my meticulous attention to detail and organization I know I will take the best care of those patients I am assigned to.

Being patient, make sure they are comfortable and have respect for them no matter what don't disrespect the patient. Caregiving isn't a job to me. It's something I love doing and it's my duty to give back to my community while helping those in need. I am compassionate towards others and I know how to satisfy and meet the demands of other people's needs. Being a daughter to a mother who needs help herself, has shown me just how tough it could be for others to take care of their loved ones while juggling work, kids, and other responsibilities. Caregiving is my foundation to jumping into the career of the medical field. Understanding what it takes to take care of someone in need will only then provide me with insight on how I'll be able to take care of others in my future medical profession.

I am a certified Home Health Aid, I graduated with the highest score in the class in October and am still looking for a job. I became a home health aid because I wanted to help people and also it will help me toward becoming a Dietitian, because that is what I am going for and I need experience with people. I like it because I can help people. I am proud of the fact that I am going to become a Dietitian. I have worked with people in the past, I used to volunteer at a nursing home when I was younger. I have also helped both my parents that are disabled around the house. Now I only help my Mom who is disabled around the house because my Dad passed away 2yrs ago I take her to her doctors visits and take her to the store.

I am a great caregiver for the simple fact that this field is my passion, my heart is completely dedicated not only to caregiving but healthcare in general. I am currently a student at the University of Central Florida studying Health service administration. For years my dream has been to establish my own nursing home program for the elderly and for individuals with disabilities. In 2012, I began working with individuals with disabilities, caring for them amongst other services also and every since then my heart and passion for this field has grown more and more.

I love caring for others along with baking and gardening . I am around to make your life easier including helping with daily activities. I have lots of experience working with elderly, I can help with meal prep , walking , grocery shopping and more. I currently hold my CNA license and BLS certification with over 6 months experience. I cannot see myself doing anything else but providing care for others. When I was a child my parents called me the peacekeeper of the family. I tended to give a listening ear and advice when it seemed needed. Watching my father go through cancer as a teen strengthen my empathy to help others. Being a caregiver has its rewards and challenges. I have learned that a simple smile, a warm hug, and a helping hand can go a long way in bringing joy and happiness in someones heart. This is what I enjoy about being a caregiver. I am proud to say I will be finishing both my A.A. and A.S degree this year and look forward to further my education in healthcare. I am new to the Alabama area. Moved from California where I have been a caregiver for a 95 year old dementia patient. I have a registered nurse background for 10 years. I just don't have an active or in license in Alabama as of right now but I am CPR certified. And I have been a registered nurse since 2003.
