I'm a college graduate a BA In Communication, father of 4, born in NY but raised in Lake County, work with special needs individuals for order 17 years, work with Department of Juvenile Justice for 6 years, work with patients of all spectrums and a care giver for numerous years.

My expertise that help me be a great caregiver is my experience working in this field and knowing how to respond to a certain situation and personally being a caregiver to my great grandmother having to help her around the house and take her to doctors appointments. The most enjoyable part of being a caregiver is seeing the smile on the person I'm caring for face. Being able to help someone and being a shoulder to lean on is the main thing that attracted me to become a caregiver. A personal achievement that I am proud of is graduating high school with both a diploma and EKG certificate.

Being a certified nurses assistant means the value of giving myself to others that are limited in their ability to care for themselves, whether it be for reasons of disability,chronic illness, terminal illness or rehabilitation. The transition from the comforts of one's own home to a long term or skilled care facility (even hospitals) can be very difficult, for the client as well as the clients family and significant others. So it is important for me to provide the best care possible for each and every individual,treating them as a human FIRST and then a patient, this is an important quality that cna's possess but most healthcare professionals forget about. While being a cna is usually a fast-paced environment due to having to see to it that each individuals needs are met and in a timely fashion, those few seconds are minutes I spend to sit at eye level and reminisce over a picture or a song with a resident mean the world to them and in turn is better than pay for me....When asked if I desired a different profession,other than healthcare, by one of my residents, I thought of the smiles, advice, tears, hugs, and appreciation I would miss and with joy in my heart I responded "absolutely not"......being a certified nurses assistant means EVERYTHING TO ME.

I am a Certified Nursing Assistant and have been so for the past 4 years. I have taken care of patients who have had Alzheimer's, Dementia, Strokes, joint replacements, heart surgery, ect. The reason i became a caregiver was because when i was younger i watched my great grandad go in and out of hospitals until he moved into a hospice home. I watched the nurses and cnas care and love my grandad just as much as i did , and i knew right then at age 13 i was going to be a nurse to help others just like my grandads nurses. When i was 16 my grandma got really sick so i moved in with her and was her primary caregiver. A year later after my grandma recovered i moved schools to get my CNA so i could start helping others. My favorite part about being a caregiver is making a difference in someone's life , as well as being an companionship and listening to all the wonderful stories they have to tell.

I became a caregiver so that I could help the community in any aspect with their daily activities, some of them don't have family. I love being an listening ear and the arms and legs for my patients, I also love providing emotional support. A personal achievement I have is the ability to provide support to hospice patients, these patients leave extra emotional support. I am 44 and I am currently taking courses toward my R.N. degree, I have 2 dogs and 3 older children. I love what I do and am anxious to get back to work in any capacity.

I am a Graduate Physical Therapist Assistant awaiting to take my board exam in July. I have been working at Florida Hospital Orlando as a Patient Care Technician since January 2014 where I assist nurses to care for their patients. A list of my duties include but are not limited to performing vitals, bathing and dressing, feeding, toileting transferring and sitting 1-1 with patients.

I am a certified Home Health Aid, I graduated with the highest score in the class in October and am still looking for a job. I became a home health aid because I wanted to help people and also it will help me toward becoming a Dietitian, because that is what I am going for and I need experience with people. I like it because I can help people. I am proud of the fact that I am going to become a Dietitian. I have worked with people in the past, I used to volunteer at a nursing home when I was younger. I have also helped both my parents that are disabled around the house. Now I only help my Mom who is disabled around the house because my Dad passed away 2yrs ago I take her to her doctors visits and take her to the store.

I always enjoyed helping others in needs, as a child growing up my mother became a nurse and sometimes I was able to go work with her and experience some of the things she was requred to do. Unlike some kids I never let nursing home environments scare me. I embraced the atmosphere and really enjoyed the elderly. From there on I knew nursing was a goal I would love to aspire. The things I most love about my job is nursing the sick back to stability, witnessing miracles, and interacting with the different cultures and backgrounds from different nationalities. Being a cargiver you always continue to constantly learn and I enjoy learning. Building special bonds with different individuals leaving life time memories I am proud of. A personal achievement i am most proud of would be furthering my education to possible invent, create cures, and educate my self more in this field to be more helpful and knowledgeable. A few things I can say about myself would be i am a sincere person. Everything I do I awlays try to keep others feelings into consideration. I believe in tough love if its going to save your life, I believe in giving emotional support because just like medicine has been proven to help cure the sick I also believe just caring and having somebody by your side who really cares about you can also help, and finally I believe in the golden rule "treat others as you would want to be treated" and I do.
