New Horizons

I became a caregiver because everyone need to feel that someone do care for them. I also became one because I know how hard it is to care for a sick love one and needing outside support. My personal achievement that I am proud of is making sure my own Grandfather was comfortable till his death due to cancer. One thing I can say about myself is that I will treat your love one as if their were my own love one. I really do love taking care of others I have been taking care of others since I was 12 years old.

I am seeking employment opportunities, and I feel that the experience that I have from assisting my mother in the past, who was disabled and my sister who is disabled gives me the required experience and compassion to do the job well. I enjoy helping others who are unable to help themselves. I am proud of being considered about other people. I love everyone. I am proud of being able to be a blessing to someone else. I am a mature adult who has worked in the administrative / clerical field in the past for over twenty years. I am not looking for an opportunity to enable me to focus more on helping others in a care giving role.

I became a caregiver in high school, I devoted my junior year to taking the nursing assistant course for an entire year over doing what most typical teenagers desired to do with their free time. Most of my passion comes from the diagnosis my mother received abruptly of Multiple Sclerosis. I learned from home health nurses how to provide care and I knew then that my heart was set. I love the difference I can make by just holding a patient or client hand when their loved ones can not. I love that I can give the time, patience, understanding and skill to make the patient/ client and their family comfortable and at ease. My achievements are not finished however, I am attending school to be a Registered Nurse which I plan on continuing my education from there. As for now I would like to keep working with patients as I train to do more in-depth work in the medical field. I have never desired to want to be anything but a nurse and I am certain I will not stop until I meet my goals.

Hello my name is letise merrick I am certified cna and i have 13yrs o f experience 8yrs in home care and 5yrs in a longterm facilities and assistant livings. I love what i do i am passionate of taking care of people elderly children etc. It puts a smile on my face to see them happy.

When I was laid off from my banking position I put thought to what to do next banking or something else. I looked to the medical field because I felt it would offer longer term job stability compared other industries. Once I started it was more than that. You get a special warmth and feeling of satisfaction in helping others. Making a difference in someone's life who is experiencing difficulties in functioning everyday. There smile and a well meant thank you goes along ways, I go home feeling I made a difference. My last client had ALS and was on ventilators for assisted breathing. One day had difficulties and I had to ambu bag him in ambulance to emergency room. When patient was finally home he thanked me for saving his life. I can't explain the feeling I had when he said that. Born and raised in Los Angeles, married with 5 children (all of whom are grown youngest is graduating this year. My professional background is banking. We recently moved to the Palmdale area from Castaic. My current company doesn't provide assignments in this area this is why I am applying.
