I became an LPN in 1992. My career as a nurse was primarily in assisted living, Alzheimer's assisted living and nursing homes. I hurt my back, at home, in 2003 and have had surgeries to correct slipped discs. I can, however, help care for people where lifting is not required. I've been working for a man who had a stroke for 5 years as of 10/2019. They are a wonderful family and will gladly give a reference if requested. I also worked around 4&1/2 years for a lady who cares for the elderly in a couple of houses she owns in Aurora. I had to leave there in August 2019 as lifting was becoming inevitable there. But I did enjoy it. I did light cleaning, laundry, medication administration, light dressing, toileting and cooked and served meals. I also provided simple companionship. I also cared for my elderly grandparents. My grandma had Alzheimer's. It was very difficult for me but, I was extremely close to them and loved them dearly.

Am Victoria by name. Am a mother of 3 wonderful children. Happily married. Am an African from Nigeria to be precise. I have been a caregiver for 7 yrs, and in college, hoping to be a Registered nurse. I am a positive person that just loves happiness, and, always wants people around me to be happy no matter what they are going through. Am not a perfect being, but I do try my possible best to make sure my clients are ok! I love everybody equally, no matter the race they are from. Am a real believer in the WORD(( The Bible) that believes all human beings are one! Am a very friendly person that loves to meet different people from different cultures. I love dancing and singing a lot. Am open to corrections because I believe it helps in modifying somethings unknown to me. I have cared for seniors all my life. I love them so much. Yeah we all can ever be the same but I have been given the grace to be able to handle and work with some seniors that are a bit difficult, but at the end of it all, we all became friends and family. Am a very emotional person that feels whatever my clients are feeling also., and just love to be sure that, my clients are ok anytime any day! Caring has been my passion since I was little as my parents told me. I love my job as a caregiver simply because it's my passion to care!!! I have many seniors that are still alive but still want me to care for them just because of our relationship, but because of my schooling, and areas they are,won't just allow me to do that, but I still connect with them on phones. Taking care of seniors is a privilege for me because it makes me remember that, one day, am gonna be like them and this makes me want to care for them, better than anyone! Being a senior isn't a sin but a blessing!!! The most reason why all seniors need a good caregiver like me!

I have never been a a carefigver before. I have never been to someone's house & took care of someone. I would like to though because I think it can help me in the long run. I am studying to be a nurse, & I think this could definitely benefit me. I've always loved to help people, caring for others has always come naturally to me. I think to be a great caregiver, you have to be kind & compassionate. You have to really love what you do. Those people I always think they have such big hearts, nurses, too. To care for someone, out of the kindness of your heart. I think it's amazing. So what attracts me to being a caregiver is seeing others happy, makes me happy. If I'm helping someone, & I know I'm doing something good it gives me such a wonderful feeling that I know I just want to keep doing it. I can't say what I enjoy most about being a caregiver, but I know that I would love having to take care of someone and having them rely on me to help them with anything would bring me such joy. A personal achievement that I am proud of would be, graduating high school early, while suffering with migraines and anxiety. I have had it pretty rough, but I am still going, trying to become a nurse because I don't believe in giving up.

I am studying to be a Nurse, because I want to be able to help people either get better or just be there for them. I love to see people happy when I am with them and that they trust me.

I have a caring, bright, bubbly personality that I would be happy to share with your loved ones. Caring for others is one of my top priorities and I enjoy getting to help others in need.

It might sound cliche, but I feel as though God put me on this Earth to help others. I originally wanted to be a psychologist, but I knew I would worry about my patients too much. My next best option? Nursing. Becoming a CNA is one of the first steps I'm taking towards becoming a nurse. I'm very enthusiastic about my future career, and I'm currently attending Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, Illinois. I'm planning to further my education to a Master's- possibly a doctorate's degree. I hope to one day become part of the Mercy Ships or Doctors Without Borders. The goal may be a stretch, but I am willing to work hard to get there.

Hello, my name is jennifer. I have been a cna since 2004/2005. I have experience working in both home health and long term care. I enjoy working in home health more because you get a chance to really know the client and family and build a relationship with them. Its also one on one so you are able to attend to there needs completely and in a timely manner. I enjoy being a caregiver and took care of my great grandma for a few months in 2005 beforw she passed away. I knew then that this is what i wanted to do. I love helping people and will do what i can to make sure they are taken care of and are happy.

I became a caregiver because I love working with elderly people. I learn so much from them beacause they have the experience and knowledge I still don't have. What I like the most about being a caregiver is that I get to help the people the most need it. A personal achievement that I am proud of is that I have more patience than before. To me that was one of the parts of my life that needed improvement. I consider my self a very friendly person I have never gotten into arguments with people for any reason. The medical field is a good field to go into because you're responsible for someone who is completely dependent. Therefore, it makes you grow as a person because you know your work is valuable and meaningful. I work with Alzheimer's residents at my current job and a certain resident remembered my name and that made me feel pretty special. I am working to get into the RN program and gaining valuable CNA experience on the side in the meantime.

I decided to work get my CNA certification after visiting my Grandma in a nursing home, I knew I wanted to help other elderly men and women with their Activities of daily living I wanted to show them I cared. I enjoy listening to their life stories and all the changes they have seen and lived through.I like to share these stories with other people and children as things come up in a conversation. I have learned many new things from working with Seniors and I have used many of their ideas in my life from cooking to raising children and house cleaning ideas. I am currently enrolled in a community college I plan on studying Phlebotomy, I have always taken courses over the years in continuing education and prerequisites to AAS.
