Hi my names are Erica Besong Ashu I am a CNA and a caregiver I have been a caregiver for 4 going to 5 years now .I wanted to be a caregiver because I loved taking care of the elderly, being around my grandparents made me love it the more.i love the joy that some times they have on their faces and the stories they tell,my biggest joy is the happiness on their faces, I will love to see that in your love one's face,let me be part of your lives.

My name is Monica Alcorn. I have impeccable work ethics. I am a mature expeienced caregiver. One of my best caregiver strenghts is I am 6ft tall and in excellent physical condition. A plus in my skills with some clients is my cosmetology/ barbering background. I have found for men and women, losing your interest in your appearance is a challenging portion of the aging process. Along with all of the basic caregiver experience. This gives me a special quality over most in this field. I love being a caregiver, my upbeat personality and overall outlook on life, makes me a great all around attribute to most families. I have watched several patients have a total turn around while in my care. While my approach isnt great for all but for the most part, im very affective in a positive way. My career as a caregiver came very early in life for me. I became a CNA at the age of 16 and my Grandmother was so happy she had a story to tell me. When I was about 3, my Grandmother had a Mastectomy. When she came home the first thing I said to her was "I'm your doctor now jammar, I'll take care of you". We went to her follow up appointment which I didn't remember until she told me. We went to the doctors and I was mesmerized by the doctor changing her dressing. She said he was telling me how to do it so she gets better. Later that evening, my Aunt who is only 14 years older than me was trying to help change the dressing. My Grandmother said she never hurt and laughed so hard because of my reaction to what my Aunt was doing I turned red and yelled at her because she doesn't know what she's doing, that's not how the doctor said to do it". So my Grandmother in tears from laughing and the pain it caused said "it's ok, show Auntie Kris how to do it". I went and washed my hands, I pulled the tape off gently, I opened the sterile gauze pads and soaked them in the bottled water we got from the doctors, I took the gauze pads out a few at a time and I cleaned and wiped the area. I dried it and then I had to put the "icky toothpaste" stuff. Every since this story, I have worked the last 30 years in healthcare. As a CNA I get to spend more time with my patients. I love to hear stories from patients about there life. Patients are no different then my Grandmother...I have al

I always embrace the people I care for with empathy and compassion. I'm very reliable and dependable. Flexible if needed as well as trustworthy. I also have a natural urge to help others and be there when ever they need me. My personal achievement that I'm proud of is the progress and joy I bring to people when I help them.

I became a caregiver to help people that really need help. I like being a caregiver because I get satsfaction when someone gets well or meets their health goal. I'm proud of the fact that iam advancing in health care because I'm a medical assistant and its because of direct care opportunity that I have had. Iam a compassionate, hard working and empathetic caregiver who considers this field a calling.

Caregiving is not a job to me, I love getting to spend time with seniors and helping them. I am a great caregiver, very patient and helpful. I have over fifteen years of experience as a caregiver working in many home. I really enjoy meeting and spending time with my client's family and getting the chance to laugh and play games with them just as I do with my own family. I crochet and make many things by hand such as jewelry. I love to decorate any and everything. The best times I have are with my family.

Growing up I was always the one who looked out for everyone and put everyone before myself. I grew up taking care of my siblings and making sure they would be fine. Everybody used to call me the young mom of 5 because I treated and took care of them like they were my own. I've always had a big heart no matter how cruel people were I still tried to help anyway I was able too. I was 18 years old when a close family friend of mines became real sick. Not only did he have diabetes but he also had dementia. He also had limited mobility and i hated to see him struggle so i would always help him do things and run errands for him because he looked like he was always in pain. There was a lot of things I liked about being a Caregiver. I liked the fact that I was able to help people and relive them of a lot of stress and worries. I enjoyed the walks around the block or the parks, just listening to them as they needed someone to talk to and just being there making sure they were safe. One personal achievement I am proud of was finishing high school on time and going back to school to get my nursing degree which I am so close to getting with a little more motivation and patience.

I became a caregiver to help others in need. The responsibility and chance to be someone's companion is what I like the most of being a caregiver. Through out the years; that I have been working as a caregiver, I get the opportunity to get a person's trust and respect which helps me to pay full attention to their needs and learn to identified problems that might come in the future, that's my personal achievement that I am proud of. I consider my self a very caring and loving person, looking at things in a positive way, and enjoying the little things in life.
