He inspired me to want to better my life and I found my passion. *The thing that I enjoy about being a caregiver is being able to make the family feel comfortable about leaving their love ones alone with me. Becoming a caregiver grew from my personal experience of caring for my grandfather. My grandfather built his home with his own hands and all he wanted was to live out his life in it. Watching him become less capable to care for himself and his house quickly became the driving force behind my overpowering desire to help seniors stay in their homes. Think of me like a multi tasking personal life assistant! What is that you ask? Well...... not only can I provide assistance with daily living tasks, but I can also assist with all aspects of household management. I can accompany you to appointments, be an advocate by your side, a voice for you, or just help you by listening and taking notes. I can help you run errands, food shop & track and manage household management tasks like maintenance & repairs. One day I may be fixing the dishwasher, the next day I'm correlating all your upcoming medical appointments and family visits. I believe that our age should not dominate our lives, how old we are does not determine who we are. I will do anything I can to help someone continue living in their home, because I believe if that's what they wish, then they deserve a chance. Aging in place is a realistic and viable option that we should always consider.

Being a caregiver is such an honor - it's all about putting away your needs to assist others. Knowing that a smile on your face can bring joy and happiness to someone else is priceless. The moments when you can reflect back and see how you have helped someone is what caregiving is all about.

About me: I have a very upbeat, positive happy personality. When I work my main goal is always to please my employer or patient. I feel my job is to satisfy a patients needs and wants, which is what I always aim to do. I am very detailed orientated, when i do anything I strive to perfection, which I typically achieve. About my education: my degree in dental hygiene included every core course a nurse has to take for their degree...the only difference is/was the clinical part (treating patients in a hospital setting) and specialty classes. First I started when I first found out my dad was diagnosed with cancer I become the daughter to care for him for 3years from 2005-2008 in 2003 I went to get my nursing assistant certification sense then I've been in this field that I love caring and helping orders worked in nursing home and home care also hospital love what I do I wouldn't change for anything else.

I have always been a caregiver. My father became ill when I was young and I helped care for him for many years. Human Services has always been my career path. I have worked in childcare and also raise 3 children of my own. I've worked as a case manager for those with mental illness, addiction, and chronic homelessness. Most recently I've been a caregiver for developmentally disabled adults and the elderly.
