In 2020, I moved backed to my hometown after living in Mexico for three years where I taught English as a Foreign language. At this time, I was asked by my family to become my grandfather's caregiver after he was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy. My grandfather has had a series of health complications within the last two years ranging from Mild Cognitive Impairment, diabetes, loss of mobility due to a fall, prostate cancer and a mini stroke. All of these have given me an abundance of knowledge on care directives and strategies to improve overall quality of life. My time providing care for my grandfather has brought back my passion for working as a Caregiver again. As I am a highly empathetic, patient and nurturing individual with experience, I am confident that I can succeed as a Caregiver for your loved one. My ability to connect with individuals and establish trusting relationships, along with my strong interpersonal skills, position me to thrive in this work field. Caring with Love and compassion will always be my goal in this field. Since I was a little girl I helped take care of my great grandmother. Fast forward to 1990, I knew I wanted to be of help and I made it to CNA school to get Certified! I started w/ Nursing/ Rehab in California and finally moved back to Hawaii to be closer to family. There I started helping out w/ taking care of Family and eventually started working for Agencies. One thing I know w/ having to work both Facilities & Homes, it's both rewarding. Difference is Time & Quality of Care! Facility definitely needing to manage Time/ Quality for each patients. Home Care is best for Patient. Time & Quality of Care is much appreciated both by Patient & Caregiver. I would like to extend my Time to other's in need. It will be a pleasure to be of assistance in this trying time. I am a Certified Medical Assistant as well as a Home Health Aid. I enjoy working with developmentally disabled, elderly and the children. In addition to the aformentioned qualification, I am a trilingual paraprofessional teacher and DCFS mandated reporter. Working with diverse group of clients is what I enjoy the most. Since 1990, I have very much enjoyed my work as a CNA ( certificate Nursing Assistant.) I also have a CPR License. In private homes and residential facilities, And hospitals. Well me as myself. I love to help people that need to be help .. people like they can't walk or senior, or they can't see .. I love to help them with what they need, or want.

I came to caring for the elderly when my father's health began to fail following my retirement. I began working for the adult foster care where he resided when they needed a cook. I took on more responsibility when they expanded their business. I am familiar with different dietary needs and enjoy cooking. I have conducted exercise and craft sessions. I feel the elderly deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. This includes personal hygiene and living in a clean environment.

I am a caring person especially when it comes to taking care of the elderly i like to make sure they are as comfortable as possible in their home. I started showing interest in caregiving when I started working at my previous job, I assisted adults with their everyday life routine and found that I really enjoy helping people to make their day and life more enjoyable. I enjoy when the people that I take care of show excitement when I arrive to work, it makes me feel like I am making a difference and giving them something positive to look forward to. I am proud of the person I am and how much I have accomplished because I have proven to myself that I am a responsible adult in these past three years. I am a very caring and compassionate person who loves taking care of people young or old. Since I was young, I have always had a serving heart and if I can make someone's day and put a smile on their face that makes me very happy. I was a CNA for 3 yrs. and took care of my mother-in-law who had dementia before she passed. I have taken classes for a better understanding of health care. I am passionate about helping people live full, independent lives within the comfort of their own homes.

I consider myself a great caregiver, with years of experience behind me, and I pride myself with my professionalism and ability to get along with almost everyone. What attracted me to be a care giver is when I had to take care of my grandma after to surgery. I have a caring, empathetic and positive personality. I have always been a carer and have raised 4 wonderful children. I am very patient, detail oriented and organized. I love making people happy and helping to add brightness to their day whether that is through a fun activity, listening to their stories, cleaning and organizing something or getting some sunshine.
