Hello. My name is Katie and I am interested in being a caregiver. I am a certified teacher and have worked in a classroom setting as well as nannied for multiple families. During that time, I was my grandmother's caretaker and support. I found that I enjoy working independently and love nothing more than to build a relationship with those whom I work with. I love the medical career; I want to help others and be the person to make them feel better with a smile or any task that makes them get the most out of their life (within the limits of what is on the care plan). I have past medical experience and know medical terminology; I can and will be honest, dependable, and do my best to provide the care to the patient as if the patient were a friend or relative. After all, we are caring for someone's relative and they deserve respect, care, and treated with kindness. I am proud to say that on Thanksgiving day; I was with my friend at the hospital being her coach and being by her side from the time she got to hospital until the birth of her dear son. She told me later that my being there holding her hand and wiping her forehead, etc was the BEST of her 10 deliveries. I took that as the best compliment, but I was so thrilled that I got to be there when her other friends and family could not. I had told her to call me if she needed anything EVER; I meant it and I was there for her then for the entire process. The previous time I was there for several days, and went to work, but was not there at the time of her daughter's birth. It was another time I knew I wanted to be there helping and back in the medical field. Smiling through the pain; applying a cool cloth or a gentle hand. Praying with her when she asked; I am thankful that I got to be time. I was able to help when others were not able. I want to be able to be the person that can he
