I have been a caregiver for 15 years being a caregiver is not just a job for me it is a passion. I love serving the elder community it brings me joy to be able to serve them and care for them!!

I'm an outgoing person that has the common sense to respect others. I believe on treating others the way you want to be treated. In some instances that hasn't always been reciprocated, but my professionalism, de-escalationabilities and problem solving skills have allowed me to always provide courteous professional service to others. Being a Caregiver is pretty much second nature to me. I have acted as a Caregiver since I was nine years old Assisting elderly grand parents. In high school I studied Allied Health Science and later became a Nursing Assistant. I loved it. Every day was a new challenge and completing each challenge was its own reward. Although I would have to say that. I thought it was awesome that a gentleman stopped me in the grocery store to tell me thank you for saving his life. He said continuing to do CPR until help arrived although everyone else walked away saved his life. All I could do was think about how bad felt knowing that guy died

I have been involved in geriatric care since I was a Candy Striper at American Health and Rehabilitation in Florida at the age of 13yrs old. I'm a retired 38yr. flight attendant where care was a huge part of my job. I took care of my mother for 10yrs. while her dementia progressed. With my background you can trust in my knowledge, patience, caring nature. I really enjoy my clients and being with them when they need assistance. I became a caregiver to help others, as I have always possessed an innate desire to do just that. Since elders can't always communicate themselves, I felt a compelling need to do this for them in the best way I knew possible. Naturally, I enjoy that rewarding feeling you get from being a Caregiver but it goes deeper than that. Addressing a problem (emotionally or clinically ) by noticing that something just isn't right or \\\\\\"off' and rectifying it is even more gratifying! I am proud that I was able to attend a private school in NC, and become a Medical Assistant. It definitely expanded my horizons, and \\\\\\"opened new doors\\\\\\" for me. With my diploma, I gained valuable experience in physician offices. For several years, I enjoyed working as a Medical Assistant but missed the camaraderie of conversing and interacting with the senior population. Eventually, I changed roles, and returned to home healthcare. As Caregiver, I pledge that I will give 100% to all clients promoting compassion, kindness, competence, dependability while striving to provide the utmost in nurturing care.

First of all, I always go into a home knowing that I will be making a wonderful friend. I love the elderly; I love their different personalities and all their "Life" stories. It gives my heart great joy to be able to make them smile. It is the most rewarding thing I have ever done.
