To be a caregiver personal for me it's a blessed to be able to give it support to family member when family member not able to handle everything and provide one by one personal care to my patient I'm coming from doctor family Cuba Havana and I'll leaving my life to give to people and need it I love my career the more I love about my job is because I'm able to provide safety care love and spirit to support to the one needed

Hi. My name is Debbie Garcia. I became a full time caregiver starting with my mom who had vascular dementia. I learned what a blessing it is to care for someone who is not able to completely care for themselvef. This inspired me to want to continue to care for others because it is a blessing and a deeply rewarding experience. I love to smile, have conversations and do my best to service the individuals I work for. You will find me a very easy going, compassionate, polite person who listens and learns daily.

One of my expertise is in art. I find it helpful in caregiving because you have to be very creative. Whether it's going to an art museum on an outing or painting and drawing a picture at home. It's always good to get your creative juices flowing. One of the things I like about being a caregiver is that it feels good to help someone else. Little by little if we all help each other out the world will be a better place for the next generation.

I have been the the health care field for about 17yrs. I have worked in home care, hospice, hospitals and clinics. I like to help my clients with what they need and help them with errands, cooking , etc. what I like most about being a caregiver is being an ear for my clients, providing companionship and learning about who that are. I also like to learn from them when it comes to their life experience and learning their own recipes and cooking tips.

Someone who believes in giving back.

I became a caregiver when a friend who did caregiving needed someone to cover her shifts. Later some shifts became available so I was happy to continue. I liked being a companion for a very sharp, interesting women. She had so many great life stories. I did light housekeeping, prepared lunch and did things around her house she could no longer do, like cleaning out her closets and going through her piles of mail. We had many wonderful conversations. I also helped care for my mother who had Alzheimer's. I was a hospice volunteer for two years which I found very rewarding. I did Reiki sessions for clients which were profound experiences. A personal achievement I am very proud of is raising my two daughters. They are beautiful, smart and educated. They both married wonderful men who adore them for who they are. I am also the proud grandmother of a sweet boy and girl. They are the joy of my life. I visit them as often as I can. Thank goodness for technology and we facetime call usually once a week. I am semi retired looking for part-time work to supplement my income. I am educated (Master's degree) and worked for a number of years as a computer programmer analyst and then did accounting. I am an avid reader and enjoy all types of music. I love to dance. I am interested in architecture. For my semi-retirement I am investigating more right-brained activities. I was very artistic as a child and want to recapture that. I moved to Tucson AZ in September 2015. I live in the NW section of Tucson (technically Marana) with my husband James.

Since I began working with people with intellectual disabilities over a year and a half ago I have grown increasingly confident and passionate for this work. I am very understanding and patient I love helping people and taking care of family members who were sick made me want to do something in the medical field to help others. I enjoy learning new things or just being someone another person can count on for companionship. I go above and beyond to help others to make sure they are ok or comfortable with a situation no matter how uncomfortable or comfortable it may be.

I enjoy learning history from seniors since they are living with accurate first hand experience. I enjoy putting a smile on an elders face and being able to provide comfort and compassion to others . I also find helping others a rewarding career in that it lightens the heart and can make a real difference in people's lives whether they are young or just young at heart! I have experience in light and heavy duty care assignments a well as palliative and hospice patients. I may be available some weekend and overnight shifts with advanced notice. Rates negotiable.

Being a Caregiver is not an easy job but it is the most rewarding and I have found that because I am generally a calm person it helps the residents I work with , I love to see them smile whether it's me being silly or helping them with things that have become harder for them to do such as Walking or Helping them into bed or getting ready for the day. From the time I was a little girl I saw my mom work in this profession and as I got older trying to figure out what my purpose was in life , I quickly found that caring for people in need is where I found most of my compassion. An achievement I'm most proud of is finishing my CNA program and passing clinicals. It was tough and but it was a challenge that I put my heart and soul into.

I love working with people knowing I am actually making a difference in their life. I plan on going to school to get my CNA and CNA2.

I am a young nurse with a BSN in nursing. I have great bedside manner, a positive attitude, and several years' experience in senior care. I began my nursing career because of my passion for providing comfort to those who may need extra support. I love caregiving and have been a caregiver as a second job for about 6 years now. My father diagnosed with terminal liver cancer which has taught me a lot not only medically but emotionally about what the patient and family go through during the hard times of health problems. During the diagnosis of my fathers cancer I searched for the right caregiver and wanted someone educated yet compassionate who could also fit in with our family. I finally decided to caregive for my father myself and am very happy that I did and did hire part time caregivers along the way if I had deadlines for work etc...this is what got me into the field of caregiving and after my father passed I continued to be a caregiver because I know that the nurses and caregivers that helped us through his last few years made a huge difference in our lives and I wanted to be able to give back or pay forward the amazing gift they had given us while he was going through his cancer and treatments. I feel that I am great for this job because I know first hand what it is like to have a busy life and career, I also had a small baby at the time and have a terminal illness diagnosed with no preparation, money for help or family help close by. I know that it can be stressful for the patient and family and I have learned so many skills of how to make these hard times easier, and how to be there for the patient and family and make it easier with not only my medical knowledge and experience but through compassion, understanding, and laughter. I feel that it's very important that you are able to find a caregiver who can feel like part of the family and come and go and be present or in the background when needed but most of all to be there and be reliable and considerate of what the patient and family are going through.

What makes me a great caregiver is that I love taking care of people. I treat everyone as if they were my family. I have a wide variety of experience when it comes to taking care of your loved ones. I am also open to learning and doing new things.
