Hi, I'm Emiterio Willy Benito. When I finished my studies at school, I decided that I wanted to study Psychology because I liked dealing with people, listening and I felt that it fit my personality. So I did my degree at Peru University because it was clearly oriented to the clinical specialty. During those years I did a lot of volunteer work that made me get to know different realities and then I took a specialization course in physical therapy which was for me a personal revolution and a great learning experience. The training was fully experiential and I revised my foundations and my emotional life up to that moment.

I became a caregiver to experience healthcare from a different position/level than I will be at after my education is completed. It has allowed me to learn the benefits of being a caregiver. The benefits to the patient, to the patient's family, to the healthcare system, and to the caregiver themselves. I enjoy making my residents and patients feel better about themselves and about their day. I am a very happy, loving, caring and compassionate nurse. I cared for my own mother who had dementia. I was attracted to nursing from very early age, and would always go out of my way to assist them, feed and provide laughter. I am proud of my accomplishments through my nursing journey. It is a priceless gift of love.

I organically became a caregiver when I was growing up after I had to take care of my own grandmother who was battling Alzheimer's. Being her only grandchild with her children running on very tight schedules, I found myself learning and doing more research in the best possible way to take care of her. Her situation kept getting worse and worse, and I had to get better and better updating myself with the most up. to date techniques. This experience built my passion for providing elderly care, because the kind of bonds I have built with my elderly patients, money can never buy. My experiences have given me understanding and birthed in me great compassion for the elderly.
