Hello, my name is Kimberly and I have been a caregiver, companion or sitter for over 30 years now and I believe that patience is a necessity in this field, and it is one thing that has helped me be a great caregiver. My siblings and I was raised by my grand-aunt while at the same time she was caring for us, she was also the primary caregiver for her mother, which was our grandmother. My aunt took care of my grandmother without any outside help, because back then there were no agencies that would come to the home and render care, just as there were no adult disposable briefs, just cloth. My aunt took care of my grandmother at home until she passed away at 100 years old. Thats what attracted me to being a caregiver. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is letting those who I care for know, that they are important and valued. I enjoy making those I care for feel comfortable and relaxed. I really enjoy it when I can get a gut laugh or at least a smile once a day, because laughing is healing. Overall, what I truly enjoy most about being a caregiver is the rewarding feeling that I get when I know that I have made someone's day a little brighter, because I never know when that day comes, when I will need the same in return, so it humbles me. The personal achievement that I am most proud of is when my aunt received a diagnoses of Alzheimer's and I without hesitation quit my job to take care of my aunt at home full-time. I gave her the same loving and compassionate care that I witnessed her give to my grandma. I took care of my aunt without help, for the last 12 years of her life until she passed away at 101 years old, at home. That is my highly valued personal achievement that I am most proud of in life because, I did it!

I found out early on that caring for other people was my strong suit. I nannied infants for years and then moved on to working with elderly clients. I am familiar with Alzheimer's and dementia care, as well as Parkinson's care. I currently work part time for a woman and from my position with her I have experience with incontinence care of bowel and bladder, medication administration, feedings via Gtube, breathing treatments, and asthma care. I have a passion for this field of work and enjoy working with clients and their family members. My goal is to always respect personal wishes and keep a strong communication amongst clients and family to provide the best care.

I have been a caregiver for 3 years and worked with a lot of people, I am currently going to school to be a nurse because I believe this is my calling. I am passionate at what I do and put my clients a priority to make them feel loved, respected and important. From being a caregiver I have gotten to know so many stories learned more about life, history, know so many great families and gotten some great advice from my clients which makes me enjoy it all. Since I was little I knew my purpose was to be help others in need. I'm a responsible, reliable, and respectful person. I've worked full-time while being a full-time college student. Although I am working full-time, I miss being a caregiver and this is why I'm so excited to be here. I start my journey of nursing school this August 2021. I'm a companionate, patient caregiver, and I always put my residents first. I became a caregiver to get hands on experience with taking care of others and being able to be there for them. I enjoy having time with my residents, getting to know what works better for them (carewise), and being able to be there to support them. I worked in a memory care unit before, and was able to find ways to make my residents feel safe and I gained their trust. I made sure to let them know who I was every time they asked, and found ways to help them cope when not remembering things. Memory care taught me how to gain more CNA skills by making me a better and stronger caregiver. I am proud of never giving up on my dreams no matter what challenge I may have. I'll always do my best to care for your loved one and make sure their safety comes first. I believe it's important letting my residents and their families know that they're not alone. I love helping! My grandmother had a huge influence on my life. I have done everything from a to z in eldercare situations. I love it. I don't have grandparents anymore, so my clients are special people in my life. I'm basically quiet but always positive and smiling. I have my CNA, I worked on the Cardiac monitors, so I feel comfortable with situations where some don't. I also took my LPN but didn't test, bc my father was dying from cancer.. I took care of him and realized I liked taking care of people and serving on an up close and personal level.

Hello. I am Megan Greer. I have loved being able to help others in any way I can. I just recently returned to the United States from a mission trip to Thailand. I was apart of the medical team, took vitals, and spent time with the kids in their village. Also, I have kept up some skills in ASL and was awarded American Sign Language Senior of the Year during my last year of high school. Currently I am taking classes at Tulsa Community College and am working towards being apart of their Nursing Program. I am so excited to continue my education and to use my CNA skills to provide compassionate care for others.
