I am a young lady with a big heart and lots of patients. I am a graduate with a Biology degree. I am a provider, companion, and a friend to many. I am a caregiver. I have always felt the need to care for and help others. When asked what gift God gave me, I answer the gift to care unconditionally even when the flesh tries to go against it. To make sure others are taken care of is a feeling of comfort and joy for me. My shoulder and my hands have no discrimination because I care for all and this is what makes me a great caregiver. Every since I was a young girl I took care of other of all ages. I babysittied for the younger kids, a mentor or motivater for my generation, and I was a helper and a listener for the elder. I didn't seek out being a caregiver, being a caregiver chose me. The joy that comes from helping others and seeing them appreciate your help and the life long relationship that are developed is what makes me really like being a caregiver.

Hi, My name is porsha wickware and I believe that having to take care of my grandmother while I was still trying to finish high school made me a great caregiver. I am an out going, smart, talented person who loves helping people and making sure that I make people smile with the way that I Interact with them. I have experience dealing with people with high blood pressure, dementia, Alzheimer's, and more. The thing that attracted me to being a care giver is being able to make sure that the elderly had as much help as possible. Another thing that attracted me to being a care giver is the fact that I would want someone to take care of my grandmother or mother if I couldn't do it myself. The thing I enjoy most about being a care giver is being able to help and seeing smiles on peoples faces when I meet the needs that they require of me. A personal achievement that I am proud of is while having to take care of grandmother when I was in high school and still graduating at the top of my class. I am also proud of the fact that I am currently almost finished with my bachelors degree program.

I personally love helping people, it makes me feel happy to be able to help get someone through their day. I choose to be a caregiver because of this. I like talking to people and hearing their stories and learning new things.

I have raised my oldest granddaugther as a single-grandmother, she is now in the process of graduating next year and going to college. Her aunts, uncle and mom have all gotten their diplomas'. Worked in the medical field 15+ years, have experience working in the private sector, hospital staff relief, New-Born Nursery, ICU, CCU, Medicare visits, VA visits, private-sitter in the home or hospital, and as a companion. I have worked with the very young, and the elderly, with the handicap, disabled, people recovering from surgery, and also first time mothers. Working with different nationalities I have enjoyed it and found it very educational, as a whole it is very rewarding. I don't just see them as old people who need help, they are full of information that needs to be heard, and listened too so that information doesn't get forgotten or lost. They are someone special, they have not gotten to be as old as they are because they didn't learn anything out of life and are willing to pass on their experiences to help save some heartache. Really enjoy working with people of all ages, like working with the new born so they can experience love for the first time instead of remembering that slap on their bottom as a welcome. Like working with the elderly so that their last days will be filled with thoughts

What makes me a great caregiver is that i take full pride in what i do. Ive been doing caregivers since 19 years old , im 24 now. Still doing what i do. Now for a rehabilitation hospital full time, being around my nurses and being a caregiver it has made me also want to become a nurse myself. Im here to help and do whatever i can.

Being a detailed oriented person, kind and caring, always following directives from the family and supervisor, take pride in sanitization and cleanliness for both patient and the household. What attracted me to being a caregiver is the desire to care for disadvantaged and disabled seniors when needed. Also, my experience as a social worker made me aware there is a great need of services for this specific community. I enjoy knowing that my services are vastly needed with assisting clients' improvement of quality of their lives. It brings warmness to my heart to prepare home-cooked meals for my clients and to experience their reaction to the meals I prepared for them and they share with me how wonderful they taste. I also love the communication between my clients and their interest as well as and the daily activity engagements that we share.
