Easy to get along with, out going, likes to make people happy, I was attracted to being a caregiver after my last patient was the best and am looking forward to again, I enjoy the connection being there for the patient as I know and understand times can be difficult to some patients, I enjoyed it all. My personal achievement I'm proud of was getting my last patient ms. Maria up and walking again, being able to be there to watch her fulfill and regain her basic strengths to do daily lifestyle.

I have over 20 plus years experience in the medical field as an Certified Nursing Assistant. From 2006 til present I have been in home health, with three years in Hospice Care, and over ten years working with Alzheimer's and Dementia patients. I have worked in Skilled Nursing, Rehab, Med/Surg patients as well. My future goals is to return to college and apply for the Nursing Program and obtain RN BSN

My reasoning to become a care giver would be my grandma who was a nurse in the U.S. Navy. She was respected by all because she was the best at what she did. I learned a lot from her growing up. I love being able to help people who need the help. It makes me feel so good about myself knowing I am doing what my grandma taught me as well as I know even if it is a small impact in someone's life it makes me feel great. The most proudest achievement I have made was when I did my intern at a nursing home when I got my CNA and looking at those people's faces glow when I walked into their room or the compliments I got just because I sat there to listen to their stories or whatever they might have needed even if it was small. I learned a lot working there. It was a great experience in itself.

Things that allow me to be a great caregiver are that I'm very gentle, very understanding and friendly. What attracted me to be a caregiver was my mother who had gotten paralyzed from a surgery she had 4 years ago. She encouraged me to want to help others. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is creating that bond and trust with the client.
