About 7 years ago my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. I had the opportunity to spend some time with him before his passing and assisted with feedings, medication reminder, bathing, incontinence care, hygiene, dressing, cooking, laundry, exercise, errands, light housekeeping, organized medication. I've had the opportunity to work with other clients with Alzheimer's, MS, Brain Trauma, Parkinson's and Dementia. I have great references and a clean background check, CRR certified and speak both English and Spanish. Through these experiences I realized how much I wanted to be there for those that could no longer help themselves. I don't see those I care for as clients but as extended family. I'm 54, married and live in Round Rock. I'm companionate, patient and dependable and treat my clients with the utmost love and respect I give my own parents. I truly enjoy bringing happiness into their lives. I'm outgoing and have a positive outlook on life. I attend church and help in my community. The good thing about being a caregiver is that you get to interract with people, you get to know them well , when i decided to become a caregiver was when my mom passed away , days before her being in the hospital i had to take her to the restroom , help her take a bath , go shopping by myself because she couldnt walk that much , make food even though when that happened i was only 15 or 16 years old , i was young but i would always help anybody that needed help. I am proud of myself because i didnt know how people felt until i came across helping others .
