I am caring, passionate, take pride in my work, attentive to other peoples needs, and a great listener. I have always wanted to care for the elderly since high school and wanted to become a caregiver at that time but I was talked and convinced out of it by my strict aunt & uncle who finished raising me since the age of 15. I wanted to do something in the medical field so I went to a technical institute to study medical records clerk/transcription; transcription was my calling. I realized at that point that I could help those in need (medically) by transcribing the dictation doctors did and translate that onto paper so it could become the patient's permanent medical record. I love transcription but it is becoming obsolete due to electronic medical records; technology is taking over leaving the human race looking for other means of contributing to the healthcare profession. Now, that I am older, having had an elderly mother in a nursing home and losing her due to natural causes, as well as raising two wonderful sons who in turn are caring for me (not medically, I'm still willing and able to fend for myself as well as others) I feel it is time to move on to something with more meaning and fulfilling in my life. I enjoy listening to people who are much older than I, I love listening to their stories of life, grooming them, sitting with them enjoying a cup of coffee and good conversation, as well as sitting outside just taking in nature. I do not tolerate abusive behavior (from family members) neither verbal, mental, emotional, nor physical on the young or elderly, they are defenseless and that is what a caregiver is there for, to defend, care, and protect the innocent. The elderly are people too and I treat others the way I would want to be treated at their age or the way I would want my family members to be treated.

Personality traits that I have that are great when being a caregiver is that I am very patient and talkative. What attracts me in being a caregiver is to provide love, support and passion for every person that needs a helping hand. What I enjoy most of caregiving is the bonding of every person I meet. A persona achievement I am most proud of is receiving my associates degree in biology.

I belive that i can be a good caregiver..because first of all im loyal always on time trustworthy. Willing to help others in need patient i worked for 3 years with a bed bound person always attending her needs good listener..best of all i believe we all need a second chance in life . to live with dignity an respect..

What makes a caregiver, is someone willing to care for someone that is not there family and treating them with the same dignity and respect. I am a caregiver because I really enjoy taking care of others and brightening there day not with just simple care but also making them laugh and letting them know there is someone they can reach out to.

I have worked as a caregiver before and also in a daycare I am CPR certified and I have food handlers certificate both done this year. I have also done housekeeping and I speak English and Spanish.

What makes me a great caregiver is the fact I care about the people that are in their late stage in life. My compassion and patience is what I think makes a person a great caregiver. The reason what attracted me to being a caregiver is that I realized I enjoyed taking care of my elderly family members and I wanted to do that for others that don't have the privilege to have family members doing the same for them. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is being a companion to the person I am caring for.

I am 25 I am currently in school studying to become a medical assistant. I have worked as an atender before for an autistic boy and and older woman. I help take care of my grandfather and I have assisted with helping out with taking care of my uncle with cancer. I am a quick learner and I am willing to help out with anything

I myself find helping and working with the elderly, to be a great privilege. Assisting in the areas that one can't do for themselves., is a blessing for both the resident and myself. I am a people , social person. I have been doing this for more than 10 years.

I am a very loving and kind person and love helping others. I recently become a mother to the most beautiful well behaved little boy. I enjoy quiet afternoons and fresh mornings.

I love providing home caregiving services to those that would otherwise not be able to do so.  The smile on their faces is overwhelming and makes me feel I have done my job right.  I have always enjoyed helping people so I know I am doing the right thing.

I enjoy helping ourselves in need. I get great satisfaction from helping patients who need assistance in making their lives easier and spending time with them to make them feel special and loved.
