I'm I received a Masters in counseling. I worked at three psychiatric hospital two of them I was a therapist intern. I worked as a medical technician --a position called mental health counselor in an eating disorder clinic. I worked for psychiatric service doing home health for patient who were discharge from local hospitals with medical conditions and suffered major depression due to decline in health . I wrote treatment plans and conducted weekly visits after the RN or NP completed there treatment for the medical conditions. I also worked as life skills trainer for individual will disabilities--life skills trainer in the homes. I worked also for home health medical agencies performing caregiver services. Bathing, cooking, cleaning , giving medications, and scheduling times for exercise. I worked a short time in hospice and did some work with two family member in home hospice.

I have been working as a caregiver in a high acuity setting providing care for patients of all ages for approximately three years. During this time I have learned how to provide assistance at all levels to patients' needs including feeding, grooming, and companionship. Hi! I started working as a private caregiver on accident a few years ago by helping out a friend of mine receiving cancer treatments. My son is disabled, and I decided I wanted to make a difference in others lives. I started at a group home for disabled adults. I was a direct care worker and moved up to managing my own group home. I am a leader and I take charge. While working at the group home, I still dabbled with private caregiving on the side. The more clients I had the more I realized how much I loved private care. Hi! I genuinely care for my patients as if they were my own family members and often think about how one day that could be my family member and at one point was, my grandmother and grandfather. I'm on the younger side of the spectrum being a CNA, 22 years old, but I believe I have learned so much and seen just about everything when it pertains to health care and patient care. I earned my CNA my senior year of high school, and begin working at a nursing facility for about a year and a half. I wanted to broaden my expertise and knowledge so I got a job at a hospital in the intensive care unit, where I'm at now. I've been a CNA in the ICU for over 3 years and everyday I'm learning something new. Something I enjoy most about being a caregiver is helping patients and making them smile because I know I have the ability to help and one day, I too will need help.
