I have worked as a caregiver in homes, nursing homes and hospice care for over 20+ years. I love helping people and treating people as I would want someone to treat my own loved ones. I understand that getting old is also a form of losing your Independence. I like to let the patients do as much as they can and help them where I am needed.

I believe in treating others how you would like to be treated or how you want your grand parents treated. I love the care in the elder. I have so much patience that is truly needed. My grandfather took sick and he got treated so horribly in a Care home I decided to take care of him myself until his heavenly call. I feel in love with the thought same care needed from the elder and those who could not care for themselves.

Very sweet compassionate caring individual. I enjoy helping others accomplish task that may have become difficult. I mostly enjoy the outcome of helping someone they are usually thankful. I was attracted to being a caregiver because I have elderly family that needed me. My personal achievement was being able to care for my grandmother when she was alive.

Honesty, patience & being dependable are very important when working with the elderly. I like working with people, especially one on one and giving them all the attention they need/want. Care giving has been a part of me for a very long time, from bringing crackers and 7up to my brother when he was sick, caring for my grandparents while in the nursing home. I was raised around some amazing women who have shown me that no matter what in any situation I will always be there for someone in need. Have seen the good and bad in working and visiting facilities. When someone is working just for a paycheck that person is most certainly in the wrong career for healthcare. Yes a paycheck is good there is too much compassion in me to be that way, I get way to attached to my people cannot help that. Our elders deserve to be treated with the upmost respect. I have sat with a client at an assisted living facility for 13 hours, working a double 2pm to 6 am the next morning, 13 of the 16 was talking, singing just being there for that resident made care giving that much more special. What I enjoy the most bringing smiles to each and every person I meet, young or old. If I only see one smile than I know have done a good days work. The most personal achievement I am proud of are my children, without then life would not exist they are my heartbeat and if anything were to happen to either of my children I would lose my absolute mind.

Hi, my name us Twila. Started as a caregiver as a favor to one of my friends, whose mother needed some help. Transportation, cooking cleaning and companionship. Actually found that I enjoyed it especially just listening to elderly, some of the stories they told about. After that moved from Ft worth area back to waco to help my mom out. I think what makes me a great caregiver is being able to help in any way I can. And to also keep them company by conversating with them so they don't feel alone. I became a caregiver because I enjoy taking care of others. I like being able to help them do things they cant do for themselves. Something I'm proud of that I've achieved is being able to learn more about people and their situations that dont let them take care of themselves while in the process I learn new things daily about medical issues.
