Caregiving was not my Arena I first learned about it when my dad was terminal in 2007 and we hired a fantastic hospice team team. Throughout his illness and eventual death I saw the most compassion caring individuals then I had ever been blessed to meet. it was at that time that I decided I needed to give back. It was not in my plan to do this for an extended length of time but I find that I love what I do and I am very good at it. The thing I am most proud of is that my reputation has led me to many referrals and have kept me working this is not just my job this is my passion.

Hello! My name is Brianna and I love being a CNA and a caregiver. After my father passed away from a stroke I dedicated myself to caring for others. I was given the opportunity to work at an assisted living facility and fell in love with being with the residents there, helping them through their daily lives. It became my second home and the residents were my family. I moved from my state of Utah to Oklahoma City and am hoping to find that love and sense of accomplishment again. I am an empathetic worker and work best with memory care.

I am a caring and compassionate individual that comes with seven years experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant working in various expanses from Skilled nursing facilities to physical rehabilitation facilities to hospitals and home health. I decided in 2016 that it would be a good idea to advance my career in the medical field and became a Certified Medical assistant starting out in urgent care/family practice to move into Cardiology practice which I have enjoyed over the past two years (Between Montana and in St. George UT). Sadly in 2018 I did let my Certified Nursing Assistant certificate expire, so I would be a personal care attendent in this capacity doing the same thing as a CNA. Since I have started the pre-requisits for Nursing in 2021 at Dixie state University to regain my certification is in the works. What attracted me to being a caregiver is my family has been in the medical field for three generations so I am following suite. I took care of my grandparents for four years prior to becoming a CNA. Then I was encourage by my family to get my certificate and continue on. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the ability to meet people on their needs and fulfilling what missing and helping them through some of the most difficult times in their life. Something that I am most proud of is seeing my patients leave with a smile when they are confronted with challenges and helping them transition from chaos thinking to clear avenues of thoughts and peace.

I am a college student in southern Utah, majoring in respiratory therapy. I will be heading home for the summer in southern califronia and living with my parents until I have to go back to school. I have been living with and caring for a 94 year old woman. She has severe dementia and recognizes me as her caregiver and friend, but doesn't know my name. She has mood swings and shifts and is easy at times and very difficult at times. I love her dearly and very much enjoy caring for her. I have a fondness for elderly people. My grandfather had Alzheimer's and I did some part time caring for him before he died. I really like the feeling I get when she is comfortable and content because I have attended to her needs. When I help her get into bed and massage her feet with lotion, cover her up with her covers, and run my fingers through her hair while she closes her eyes, its the best feeling in the world. I make up songs using her name and she smiles and sometimes sings along with me. The reason I became a caregiver is because I have a weak heart condition wherein I cannot work a "normal" job and so I needed a job that provided for my needs, but also that does not exhaust me. Elderly people move slower than I do, so I can keep up with them. Because of my weak heart, I cannot lift a person, so someone in my lady's family comes to give her a bath. However, I give her sponge baths, and in emergencies, I have been able to lift her. I prepare her meals, help her dress, wash her face, brush her teeth, do her hair and makeup, take her for rides, talk to her, laugh with her, help her to bed and also help her change her adult pull-ups daily. I am skilled with being responsible, helpful, I learn quickly, I love to push and motivate others, and I'm someone you can count on! My talents include the ability to make new friends easily, my athleticism (I love sports), and my passion for the outdoors (I love hiking, swimming, fishing, repelling/canyoneering, etc.) I have been certified as a lifeguard and certified as a CNA. I also had the opportunity to be apart of H.O.P.E squad at my High School, which gave me the chance to go into many different public schools and teach kids about fire safety, drug prevention, prevention of bullying, etc. I love making friends...but I'm especially great at connecting with kids and elderly people.
