I live in Northwest Seattle and seek part-time caregiving work. I am patient, kind, and have a wide range of interests. Through my dad's loss of his robust health, I learned about the great need for caregivers and how nuanced it is to bring someone into your home. You want someone who fits your situation! Experience: I helped an elderly woman who broke her hip and relocated from out-of-state to find her way through these changes in her 89th year. I helped my dad, a retired physician, adjust to dementia and declining physical abilities (see below list of skills I learned through caring for him). In the front and back ends of life, we all need some extra help. I am looking to provide it on a part-time basis. Open to weekends, evenings, daytime. 3-hour minimum, but 2-hours around north Seattle.

Hi my name is Desiree and I have been working as a caregiver since 2011. I have a soft personality, very caring and energetic. I strive to help others achieve what they can no longer do by themselves. I am Certified as Nurse delegated, Demetia and mental health and of course CNA. Im a great cook and enjoy good conversations. I enjoy reading and learning about health and natural approaches. I have a son who this year will be entering High school in Ballard. In my spare time I enjoy local hikes and bike rides.

I make a great caregiver because I am not only empathetic , caring and patient, but I also upgrade my skills every year so they are always current. Most of my caregiving experience has been with stroke, heart attack, dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice care, elderly, memory issues, drug addiction, over all care, schizophrenia, and infant care. I particularly find enjoyment in elder care. I took care of my father at his end of life, and believe that all individuals deserve to be treated with respect, love and to be safe. I currently take care of my younger brother who suffers from a variety of medical issues derived from his stroke. I began my work career as a designer and computer engineer, but gave up the latter to take care of my father and brothers. It is very fulfilling.

I'm a great caregiver because I enjoy taking care of others. Making others feel better and being there to support them is very important to me. I feel like having a job to help others is a great quality as a person.
