I have a passion to care for others and I'm very compassionate with people. I discovered this while taking care of my Dad when was ill. After spending 7 years in the banking industry I decided to change my career as I felt healthcare best suited my personality. I decided to become a caregiver first by joining an assisted living facility and moved on to complete my CNA and I'm working on getting into Nursing school.I have a bachelors degree in business and plan to pursue one in Nursing as well. It is my hearts desire to ensure the work of my hands brings help and healing to others and this is why I have chosen this field of work.

Hello ! My name is Telyssa &' I have been a caregiver/hhca for almost three years. I have experience in both in home &' facility environments. I'm 25 and I've been doing elder are since I've been an adult. I've completed the HCC CNA class in 2013 and I've worked for home care companies such as eldercare network, McKinney Carey and I'm currently working PRN at Belmont Village senior Assisted Living, I enjoy my job, my residents and clients keep me laughing and on my toes, My mother is blind and has been blind since I was 9 years old, growing up I looked after my mother and later I knew I wanted to Care for those in need. I'm a full time student at HCC studying culinary to major in Dietary and become a Dietitian. Working in this industry I picked up alot of skills and learned many things about the people I cared for. I build bonds and learn how to work with my clients with they everyday living skills

What makes me a great caregiver is that I am very caring, compassionate, and have the patience to be a caregiver. The reason why I got into this field of work was to care for a family member and it was something a enjoined doing. Something that I am proud of myself for doing is going back to school and getting my bachelors degree. One thing I try to live by in my life is to treat others how I would like to be treating and that is with dignity and respect.

I am extremely patient , observant, honest , respectful and soft spoken . Being a nurturer is innately in me so caregiving is something that comes naturely. I decided to become a caregiver because it is very honorable and humbling. I enjoy working with the elderly and disabled because it gives me a beautiful take of life and the many phases we go through as humans and just a reminder how we all need or will eventually need someone so be kind and compassionate. I enjoy serving those in need I feel as though I am paying it forward.
