I have known since the age of 12 that I wanted to be a caregiver in some capacity. My grandparents look care of me as a child and I wanted to take care of them as they grew older and could no longer take care of themselves. As I got older, I realized that I not only wanted to take care of the elderly but the sick as well. I liked the idea of helping people feel better and doing things for them that they could not do for themselves, I found it to be rewarding and fulfilling. What I like most about being a caregiver is being apart of a team that helps people feel better and when there is no better, we make their final days as comfortable as possible. A personal achievement that I am most proud of is helping a family deal with the loss of their mother. One of the daughters cried, hugged me tightly, thanked me and then said, "You have done more for me than you will ever realize." I absolutely LOVE what I do. I have been a nursing asistant for over 18 years and I am in school to become a Registered Nurse so that I can help people in a greater capacity. Being a nursing assistant isn't just what I do, it's more than just a job. Being a nursing assistant defines who I am as a person. I am caring, nurturing, giving, and most of all compassionate.

I knew at a very young age that I wanted to go into healthcare. At the age of 16, I wanted to begin my journey into healthcare. I love taking care of people in general, I believe that I would consider myself as a nurcher, and I have a huge heart. My experience is mostly with elderly. I get to go home on a daily basis with a smile on my face knowing that I got to help someone else who truly needs the extra help from someone, and needed a little extra TLC. At the end of the day I feel better about myself. I especially love to get to know people on a personal level, hear their stories about them when they were younger and throughout their lives, I believe those are the best. I like to have the trust between both me and my client, I want them to have trust in me and know that I will do anything in order to keep the trust between us and to keep them safe, independent as much as possible, and in the same routine of their normal day. That way nothing is out of place, and nothing feels "weird" to them, I want it to be as stable and "natural" as possible.

Moving myself from Colorado to Arizona driving a 20 ft. moving truck through the mountains of Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona were unique challenges.. i did it myself! My standard operating mode is doing the very best of my ability per any given task.

I saw that my mother enjoyed her job as a cna when i was a teenager. She always had consitant income and was able to provide me with the things I needed as I approached my high school years. She told me that she took care of her grandmother. I have been a cna for ten years I absolutely love caring for others. I love the geriatric population I consider them my babies. Ever since I was a young girl I always wanted to become a nurse to help others. Giving back and making someone else smile and feel good about themselves is what's important to me. I am so glad I became a CNA and look forward to furthering my education to extend my skills and service to those that need it. I am originally from Texas and migrated to North Carolina and and now I work at a Cancer Clinic where I love giving back my services to the patients and their family at this difficult time of their life.

I chose to do cna classes back in 2016 as a junior in high school. Being young, it was honestly just something to do but I grew to have a love and compassion for helping the elderly.
