What makes me a good caregiver is me being able to treat others the way i would want to be treated if i was elderly or in any form of disability. What attracted me to being a caregiver was takin care of my gpop up til he was 95 and i saw all the families who wouldn't help and it kept him lonely and angry ,i knew that if i made him comfortable and happy i can do for others, it gave me a golden heart cause they go back to a infant form and u have to treat them with warmth and care. I also been around siblings and other family members with disabilities and it's always been my passion to go forth to work with people in the outside field to learn and to give them ability to feel normal and be them selves. What i enjoy most is that i get to take them out and let them be who they want to be ,i like to give them life ,my job is to care for them but i like to give them alil more ,some give up and think since the doctor says u can't no more it's over, i say let's try and see how far u can get ,cause there isn't no i can't ,until god says so . My personal achievement was when i had one client who was determined to walk and doctors said she couldn't , in a matter of three months i had her standing and doin so much on her own. I love my job i love my clients , i pray this wasn't to much to read but i wanted to introduce who i am. Thank you in advance

I first got attracted to being a caregiver when my grandma was taken care of in our house due to her brain tumor. She was getting care as well, when she passed. I realized that is what I want to do. I want to take care of people and who can longer do the same things for them selves or need assistance or supervision. I enjoy being a care giver, it makes me smile knowing that I can help another person do again what they can't alone, and just get things done for them, makes them comfortable and feel good and me as well. I have wanted to take care of people since I was 12 years old when I was taking care of my mom with chronic pancreatitis. I have been in the medical field for about 6 years. When moved to Morro Bay in 2018 - I obtained my Certified Home Health Aide Certificate from the State of California and decided to use that - at this time in my life where it is more pleasant to deal with a person on a one-to-one basis only. I have multi-cultural experience. I have dealt with a wide variety of people and have learned to be flexible as well as resourceful in order to identify needs, issues, objectives and plans for such objectives. My parents are 96 and 95 and still in good health. They taught me about the golden age of movies, their past, WW2, and the importance of family. I am able to communicate clearly and am familiar with medical terminology and insurance terms as well. I am able to access for medication effectiveness, signs and symptoms of illnesses, body checks, and take vital signs daily as a base for my end of shift charting - even if that is just for the sake of family or to leave at house for client to be available for emergency. I have current CPR. A certification in Anger Management, I have a certification in Gero Psych nursing from University of Irvine Medical Center, I still retain a current LPT license, a current first aid certificate. I am now a part of the San Luis Obispo County IHSS (In Home Support Services )- I was told that I also now qualify as a veterns relief - respite care worker as per Carelinx. I do work part time for Maxim Health Care services. and I do have current references.
