I'm a very kind, caring and generous person. I love to help others, I love making others smile and laugh. Laughter I'd good for the soul. Moving in with my grandparents when I became unemployed has attracted me to become a caregiver. My grandmother is 78 and my grandfather is 86. When I moved in with them I would see how difficult if was for them to do alot of things they used to. So I stepped in and started caring for them. I would cook breakfast,make lunch and dinner everyday for them. I would make sure they took their medications. I did the laundry and alot of other things for them like grocery shopping and taking them to appointments to picking up their medicine. It made me feel great inside to see how I was became their caregiver. I love helping my elders you can learn alot from them while you remind them and let them enjoy life while they are still here. My personal I am proud of is seeing them happy that's the best feeling in life.

My name is Kaitlyn, I'm 25 and really enjoy helping people and doing all I can to make peoples lives easier. My favorite part about being a care giver is forming bonds and talking to people, getting to know about everything they love and putting a smile on their face! What attracted me to being a caregiver is taking care of my late grandmother and making sure she got the right care she needed. A personal achievement I'm proud of would of course be becoming a mother!

My expertise that help me be a great caregiver is my experience working in this field and knowing how to respond to a certain situation and personally being a caregiver to my great grandmother having to help her around the house and take her to doctors appointments. The most enjoyable part of being a caregiver is seeing the smile on the person I'm caring for face. Being able to help someone and being a shoulder to lean on is the main thing that attracted me to become a caregiver. A personal achievement that I am proud of is graduating high school with both a diploma and EKG certificate.

I obtained my nursing aide certification through a special job caring for children who were on life support systems, with severe limitations, and short life expectancy. One of my first encounters during the interview process was with a young girl with fetal alcohol poisoning, which left her without pupils and undeveloped vocals. I was allowed to hold her and when she wrapped her arms around my neck and let out this infectious giggle. I knew I wanted to work there. I also worked as a nanny, hospice caretaker, a Doula, and paraplegic caretaker. My certifications include: Nursing Assistant(5yrs), Personal Assistant, Monitoring Tech., EKG Tech., Phlebotomy(1 yr), Dialysis Tech(12 yrs),EMT(Ambulance)(8yrs). I'm now a full time Graphic Arts student, fulfilling a lifelong dream of having a degree. My hobbies include writing, drawing, designing, sculpting, landscaping, and interior design. I currently drive a medical equipped van to transport people with limited mobility. In 2009 my own son was on life support and is living on his own, as of 9/15/2014. He and his brother make me very proud. I am a true believer in treating people the way I want to be treated. Not proud of having so many jobs, I will explain.

When I was little I cared for my younger siblings.Cooking meals and getting them dressed is something I enjoyed doing which is why I then wanted to become an RN.I love taking care of my residents,just knowing I'm helping someone makes me feel good inside. In the nursing home when asked who is a great CNA and who is very helpful a bunch of them gave my name which made me feel as if had accomplished something.Ive been a C.N.A for 7 years and a PCT for a year and I'm currently working on my LVN.

Patience to be understanding that there may be changes in plans, things may not go as quickly as planned, and there may be a little hesitation at times on the part of the person receiving care. Compassion in understanding of what the person is going through. Attentiveness it is important to me when providing home care that I am attentive to the needs and changes that are taking place. By being attentive, I will notice when there are emotional or physical changes in the person I am caring for. Dependability is imperative that I be dependable and show up to provide the care that the person needs and is counting on. Trustworthiness in a position that will allow me to have access to the belongings of the person I am caring for. It is crucial that I be someone who is trustworthy and will not breach that trust by taking advantage of the person.
